Getting butterflies thinking about it it's been a long time since I've spun a few tunes in public. It's an honour to be on the same night as Cathy C, awesome DJ with a fabulous collection lots of other events on tonight for a great attendance at the fabulous venue "The Grosvenor Rooms" see you all later

Certainly the end of a superb era. We've been coming to Kingsway on and off for about 18 years with the Barnsley gang. So glad we decided to come tonight. Love and hugs to Carl and Val. Hope to see you both out and about sometime ❤

Sorry I won't make it this Saturday as planned ☹ I have no doubt that you will have a fabulous night with Graham, Cathy, Simon and Gaz to entertain you all as they are all 1st class DJ's. Hope to catch up with you all soon (God willing) Karen (Betty) and Tom xx

First night out for us since March 2020! Looking forward to spinning a few tunes for everyone. It will be like starting from scratch, hope I can remember what to do. Uptempo soul you want, uptempo soul you will get Karen (Betty Bump)

You will note that we haven't listed a guest DJ? I will be guest for this night as I have retired from the Walton Team, so this will be my goodbye. I will of course still be DJ'ing out and about. My circumstances have changed in a way that carrying on would have been difficult. I wish Paul, Liam and Phil success (I dont think they will really need it) and will try to attend each one. Hope to see you all there Betty Bump (Karen Megeary) xx

£3 on the door If there are to be limited numbers on the night you can reserve your seat by texting giving your name and how many seats you require (basically we want the room to be a safe environment for all) The room can accommodate 100 comfortable so we will aim for that figure (unless gov change their mind of course) **Guest DJ .... Eddie William's (get your dancing shoes ready)** Lovely dancefloor, great bar and large car park. If everything goes to plan and we are allowed to play out this will be our first event in 2021. We look forward to seeing you all again

:excl: OVO, VINYL, CD OR LAPTOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ???

Thanks for your kind comment Stu, our venue is one that aims to play good dance records and we try to play a good all round collection (modern, oldies, some from the top 500, RnB....)Not a great deal of modern I accept. All our dj's have their own style, mine just happens to be a bit of a mix up lol. I think you go to some venues and you know what to expect month in month out, same old same old.....but at Walton you will never get that. We try to bring something new to the table each time we hold our events (4 per year and all for charity) and may I add that I play OVO, thanks again Betty x

Could I ask what year this is from?? 78-79??

To reply to your comment. The only reason why I stated it as a bone of contention was that many people tell me that they couldn't care less weather its on OVO re issue or boot..........I was just trying to get other views on the matter. I have only been collecting for about 5 years and at first would buy just about anything but after some time came to realise that it does matter and I now have quite a good collection of OVO. Obviously no big hitters or expensive rare stuff as Im only a clerk at a manufacturing company so my wage is just above min, but they don't have to cost a fortune to be good...........just need to win the lottery to buy some of the ones I would love to own Betty

No, I personally think that you are right. I must admit to having a few boots and re presses and at first that didn't bother me, but now when im playing I can hear the difference with quite a few of them. I now try to play OVO in the main but will play a re press if someone requests it and I don't have a "real one". Digital music is a deffo no no for me too. Thanks for your feedback

Just would like to ask if anyone else thinks that our scene is getting to saturation point?? I know its great to have a choice but I feel as though every time I look at the events lists the list becomes longer. I would love to think that there is enough soul loving people to go round but obviously at some point some of the smaller venues will struggle to keep going. Why are some of the venues doing more that one event per month?? Another bone of contention is OVO or not?? I ask this question to non dj's, do you want OVO or aint you that bothered either way?? Love Betty (Walton 4/5 Soul Club)
