I'm not an expert conchitta so may get some info wrong but hopefully someone will correct me if so, I believe that John 'Jay' Traynor had already been replaced with Dave Blatt who had to adopt the name Jay Black. Thinking this might be right as they released 'Only in America' 1963 which already has Jay Black in the group, Living above your head video here says1966? have a wonderful weekend x

GROUP MEMBERS INCLUDED NICK MARINELLI, ERNIE DERNAI, LINDA ALLEN AND BOB KERR.THE SHADES OF BLUE WERE AN AMERICAN BLUE - EYED SOUL VOCAL GROUP FROM LIVONIA, MICHIGAN. A SUBURB OF DETROIT. THEIR BIGGEST HIT WAS 'OH HOW HAPPY' IN 1966, WRITTEN BY EDWIN STARR, WHICH REACHED NUMBER 12 ON THE BILLBOARD HOT 100 CHART, NUMBER 16 ON THE US BILLBOARD R&B CHART, AND THE TOP 10 IN CANADA. THAT SAME YEAR THE SONG 'LONELY SUMMER', AGAIN WRITTEN BY STARR, REACHED NUMBER 72, AND THEN 'HAPPINESS' PEAKED AT NUMBER 78 IN THE HOT 100. THE GROUPS LATER SINGLE FAILED TO CHART AND THEY DISBANDED IN 1970.
