Remember hearing 5000 volts 'I'm on Fire', at the Casino. I walked off the dance floor in a Huff. Another record to consider is John Miles 'One Minute Every Hour'. I met John in the 90s and mentioned the record, he was bloody amazed anyone knew it.

Racism at NS venues; did/does it happen
rodders replied to Ady Croasdell's topic in All About the SOUL
I for one never came across racism and speaking to my mate Sammy Dee neither did he,when I hear these comments I do wonder of the origin. its always been a puzzle to me why(for example) people go to black music gigs, buy exclusively black music yet hate black people,it just doesn't make sense.i think a lot of these comments from people that they encountered racism at soul venues was not from regular soul attendees but people from outside seeing what the fuss was all about at all nighters. -
If you listen to "Mr Soul Satisfaction" by the legend that is Mr Timmy Willis, is what we ever wanted to be to the girls,in fact he's so bad he should've been born twins, Good god y'all.

Parcel Arrived But No Record In It, Is This A Scam
rodders replied to Markhopes's topic in Look At Your Box
Same thing happened to me a few years ago where my parcel was intercepted by someone in this country and my goods were swopped with items of no use, sender was 100% reliable of whom I knew personally, the items replaced in package were UK items. On another note when buying records in the U.S. ,have you noticed sometimes the name of the record is on the package, surely this makes your items more at risk if the 'perp' knows his stuff. -
A true legend that gave us arguably the biggest ultimate 'northern soul' dancer. This guy was on the Right Track for all of us. R I P.

What Record Would You Use To Explain Or Exemplify Northern Soul
rodders replied to jam66's topic in All About the SOUL
Hard to do with one record I'd say you'd need to have 5 records, one male, one female, one male group, one femme group and one instrumental. Major Lance-You don't Want me no more. Rose Batiste -hit and run. Natural Four-I thought you were mine. The Sherry's-put your loving arms around me. San Remo Strings-Festival time. These 5 were off the top of my head, could change if I thought about it more. -
Excellent posting feels like your actually there, try it with head phones on. good stuff.

Always bad to hear about nicked records on the scene, happened to me years ago before I got on the scene only it was family,(he's always been scum),but for it to be a mate, those that we choose as family that hurts, these are the kind of things that happen that put me off selling on eBay,I've brought over a thousand records online and only 2 have not turned up,1reissue from Germany and 1 from the uk(bobbettes demo), I felt so bad for the dealer who sent the latter one as I know his background but he was getting a lot of records nicked at his local P O OFFICE he was sending the records through, he eventually sent another copy out of his own collection, the one he orig' sold was a spare. So good luck guys with the records hope they turn up and name and shame the scum.

All the kent stuff is great and great liner notes, The soul of detroit on soul supply, The southern soul CDs 1-3 on ace are effing amazing, Not always a big fan of the goldmine stuff unless it was the detroit stuff, but boy could they put a deep soul cd out,top marks for them. Obviously the Dave godin albums, The tommy Tate on pvine excellent. Not a big player of CDs I tend to put them on IPod and leave them in the corner, more interested in the sleeve notes,it'd be a perfect world if downloads gave you the liner notes too,and if APOEL won the champions league.
