Thanks a whole lot to the thief who stole my New Sounds lp on Sunday at the Macmerry all-dayer....To say I`m devastated is an understatement. It was the original on Turbo so the chances of another copy comming along is zero....If anybody is offered one of these -please let me know....If who ever has taken it returns it, nothing will be said and the matter will be closed...I only want the lp back. Whats worse is that I`d sold precious records so that I could afford to buy it, I`m shattered by this act of lowness.So if anybody is offered The New Sounds-" The New Sounds " on Turbo the chances are that it`s my copy. There have been lots of threads on the legend Pete Lawson about his various adventures on the northern scene, but do any of you soulies have items that he left before he went to the big allnighter in the sky........I found and old cardboard record sleeve from a record that I bought from him way back at one of the Allanton/ Shotts allnighters. Petes desriptions verbally were out this world and so were his record sleeve comments as you can see below...I`ve been lookin for this for years and have just found it again...brings back fond memories Andy

Hi Gash, I`ve got an original copy mate.....I`ll bring it up tomorrow to Aberdeen for you to see for yourself. The dead giveaway is if the arrangers name is underneath ` Mixed Emotions ` it`s the reissue.....The orig has a large beveled edge and the numbers and letters in the dead wax are different,....also the paper that the lable is made of has a slight grain to it on the original, compared to dead smooth and shiney on the reissue......Now here`s one to really do yer head in, from the one swirl groove in the deadwax to the lable it`s 16mm. If John Manship is online he`ll put up the facts, he`s got it down to a fine art with this record,....I got mine from Butch a few months back. Andy D

Hi Baz, I`ve always thought Danny Harrison " Girl, Girl, Girl " is a great track from that lable, uptempo beefy in you face thumper. I sold a yellow demo for £70 last year. It got snapped up pretty quick so it must have been a fair price. Andy

Any of you guys got any info on --VENICIA WILSON- " THIS TIME IM LOVING YOU " I`ve seen a few copies of this on `TOP TOP` yellow label, was this it`s original release......... If it has been pressed how do you tell if it`s the real thing? would really appreciate some help on this guys. Andy.
