Hi John i remember being in Guys house with Graham Anthony and him saying im sure the producers had a vision of what Wigan would be like 10 years later when they made this. Strangley or not it took ages for the oldies crowd to latch on to it
Not sure when i first heard this but think it was Danny Everard who played it c/u i bought one of Mick Smith in 1989 £100 quid i think. first played it at The Top of the stairs soul club the Central cannock the response was fantastic so good in fact i played it at the end as well. one of the best non coloured soul records imo
your right Chalky i can remember going to Guys house in the mid/ late 80's and he was spinning it then as well, i always thought it was a strange one for him to choose cause mostly it was banging up tempo from him
