  1. My card was black and dark yellow. I had to reinforce it with sellotape after long to stop it falling apart....
  2. Used to attend Keele in the early nineties whenever i could-got most of the patches. Once went from Rotherham with a guy who worked for British Rail on the trains. We got off a stop too early. Then we started hitchhiking whilst "under the influence". He didn`t know where he was going either. Got stopped by the police-two suspicious characters carrying holdalls in the dead of night...After being searched we asked for a lift into the next village..and a got a police escort back to the PREVIOUS village-fascists! Arrived about ten minutes before Keele closed then made our way back to Crewe train station- down the hill that lasts forever if you`re walking....happy days though-funny as fukc....
  3. Hope you enjoyed it, Mandy? We had a great time and we`d love to see you there again....
  4. Didn`t they change the colour of the membership card? To Yellow and Black? BTW I remember having to wrap sellotape round the card to strengthen it as it was falling apart. Can`t find the card-I`m sure it`s hanging around somewhere. If I find it I`ll scan it or take a photo and post it up. Great nighter-one of the best.
  5. That`s one of the few anniversary patches I`ve never had!
  6. Agreed. But I`d say it`s MUCH better than this! Nice- with a great stomping chorus. The scooter crowd should like it along with "And I Say To Myself"

  8. Sold "Little Rose Little" yet Kev? Was gonna buy it but can`t find it on the site anymore mate. It`s sold then? Regards Stuart

No- these are genuine releases. When You Love Someone/I Need Your Love WAS booted but it was white with blue lettering and NO ship logo with a raised ridge on the label. When You Love Someone/All Of My Life on Bay Sound was a genuine release. Same with the others. But the original release of I Need Your Love (on Bay Sound and the earlier rarer Caravelle for that matter) the flip was Love Is The Thing. Hope this helps.
  10. And (of course) not to mention probably his most famous ....MASTER KEY
  11. Last time I heard this it was spun by Soul Sam (Martin Barnfather) in the small room at the Suncastle, Skegness!! I was the only one dancing!! Also played THE OUT OF SIGHTS-For The Rest Of My Life.
  12. Was this the one that was run by OKEH Soul Promotions? If so I always wondered how they got the rights to use the name-and then I thought who gives a shiny sh*te... Got most of the anny patches.. Good memories-talking each other`s head off for 4 hours at a time in the cafe downstairs..

Ditto. And have I some stories to tell about Matchy Clowery...great days..
  14. Good choice, sir. I`ve had one for a few years now. Never tire of it. Great.
  15. Hi again Malc. True-But many labels tried to cash in on and jump on the Motown bandwagon when it went massive? They tried to recreate that sound and sometimes ended up creating something totally different?

Also the dead wax run out groove is way too long to be kosher... Issued on UK Jayboy in 1972. Looking at the Monarch Recordings matrix number 101999 this one is a bootleg from 1974.
  17. Nope-you`re right-it`s bollox..Virgil Henry was never released in the UK... But where was the guy that told you he had one released from?
  18. What got me interested in this stuff in the first place was "The Supremes- You Keep Me Hanging On". Think I was only 8 years old when I heard it for the first time and man, was I hooked. And the rest is history. And even nowadays, everytime I hear that guitar riff at the start of that 45 the hairs on the back of my neck stand up ...
