  1. A very good friend and mentor of mine from the past. The late great "Little John" Ullah from Scunthorpe once told me. "Totally unplayed unknowns always start at a fiver then work themselves up from there.."Â What Joe D is saying is also true in my opinion-..something's only worth what somebody else is prepared to pay for it. So keep playing it and build up a demand for it. Then listen to the offers...
  2. I like all three but LAZY's the one I've heard the most. Which is strange as it's the rarest. Kept hearing it played a lot in the Lancashire area in the early 90's. And in my opinion not an "expensive prize turkey" as is claimed earlier in this thread. Sorry, but I like it. Â I'll 'plump' for this turkey....Â
  3. Lou Ragland? Don't think I was there that night. That night I probably didn't manage to stowaway in Crofty's van....
  4. Bought one from the Wilton in the early nineties-forgotten how much I paid..
  5. I know it's on Capitol but I've never heard it before. This is the first time....
  6. Nice listing that won't break the bank. But isn't the spin by The Visitors on Dakar called Lonely One ONLY Son?
  7. I went a couple of months ago to see Rich Rosen (what a nice guy) at WAX TRAX in Vegas. Noticed the vast amount of price guides he had..Manships included. When I started looking through the guides Rich seemed concerned. He then asked me why I was looking through the guides as he guaranteed to beat the guide prices anyway. He did-but not by much.
  8. A bit of old sticker residue on the flip... What`s an easy method to remove this?
  9. It can be played! I've seen loadsa good stuff pressed slightly off centre. Sometimes only the label's been stuck on to the vinyl off centre. Try lining it up and cueing it in with two fingers and your thumb around the spindle and don't use a centre...
  10. Merry Christmas to thee Alan me old mate. Long time no see. LB-One of my favourite all time spins on red Tayster. What a choon... Shame it isn't though. It would've been interesting to hear a BEP version?
  11. I've got DEAN PARRISH-TELL HER on SPARTON. (YELLOW)
  12. Carmel is Clint Eastwood's place-he was Mayor there wasn't he? Does he still own that bar in Carmel called the Hog's Breath I wonder? We travelled mainly on the Los Angeles Metro (underground train system a bit like the tube but miles cheaper) to get around-it sure is a big place. Went to Universal Studios Hollywood. Went on the Walk of Fame on Hollywood Blvd not to mention the tour around Beverly Hills. The wife went to Long Beach. We went Sunday shopping in East L.A. and you'll never find nicer and more polite people than in the Latin area of East LA. We told them where we'd flown from and they made us feel very welcome. Very memorable.
  13. Went to L.A. in 2004. Didn't find any shops selling any kind of vinyl. Brought some nice stuff back though-but NOT from KR or his 'associated' dealers. A local guy from East L.A. was hanging around the hotel lobby with a 50 box! He gave me a look inside, everything was mint and still in their original sleeves. Mostly local demos. I went across to the bank ATM over the road with my VISA card for some cash..Nice...
  14. I assumed he was referring to the one I was- the more uptempo and powerful GFMAG. Although Lonely World IS okay also imo...
  15. I may be wrong but Satiron is a boot I think...
  16. I think THE GALLOP is the proper one on CARLA. I recall the vocal was on the Grapevine 45s released by RCA in the 70's with The Gallop on the flip. Never seen a vocal other than that....
  17. I think I heard it played at the Pier and the Winter Gardens..
  18. Yeah I agree..A £1000 (at least) record for 200 quid....that would be value for money
  19. I also quite like (and used to play regularly) also on Way Out: THE SENSATIONS-GOTTA FIND MYSELF ANOTHER GIRL/LONELY WORLD.
  20. You're right. It is a stock copy, not a white demo/dj copy with the instrumental flip WAITING. The title is spelled 'YOUR' and not 'YOU'RE'. And stamped in the dead wax with what looks a curly serif type script. '
  21. Well I own the white copy on WAY OUT (not the supposedly cheaper multicoloured) so how much is the white worth?
