  1. I don`t plan my spots.I like to be more spontaneous. That way it`s more fun for me and the punters cos they never know what they`re going to hear next. I sometimes smile when I see fellow deejays open their boxes and they`ve got notes sellotaped to the inside of their record box lids.. ( Didn`t think you could analyse human nature-as it changes everyday. Play the same 45 two days in a row-you won`t have the same effect on each day, even with the same crowd!! Maybe we could employ psychiatrists to buy and play records for us for each individual venue we do You`re all right about the beer though...and too much of it..trouble cueing em in..failing judgement.etc,etc.
  2. Depends how much you love the record! That`s IMO how the prices go up! Somebody somewhere pays over the odds, fearing they won`t ever see a copy ever again. Then before you know it everyone`s paying that price!
  3. Piercebridge, officer? Never heard of it!
  4. Forget who played it at the 100 club (Butch maybe?..claimed it was an unreleased acetate...) I used to play it but (amazingly) I`ve not heard it played by anyone else in a long long time..
  5. Yesssssss...California Gold?
  6. Yes,Great sound on CALLA.First heard it a long time ago at the 100 Club. Went out and bought it immediately. I used to play it a lot in my sets.Needs playing more often, ma`am.
  7. and another 45 had the same start as Saxie Russell on Thomas/Tomas....Yes! It`s quiz time again folks...What was it??
  8. Oh he`s from Hull-enough said I think I`ll offer him one of my copies for a bargain fifty quid!!!
  9. Yes Paddy! They`re all scams. Including the bank emails asking you to update your details through a certain link. They would never ask you to do this anyway. The senders of these emails send you to a false (spoof) site where you login-and then they`ve got your login details via a keylogger!
  10. Some DJ`s who put the stylus onto the record..What do you expect me to to say? Some people who start boring threads?
  11. Well, there`s a website address on the bottle, maybe we can buy it direct! https://www.am-denmark.com
  12. I`ve bought gallons of this stuff from Banksy-next time I`m going to His Master`s Voice, Ma`am!!!
  13. Yeah, I`m not saying Ellen and the Shandells didn`t exist. Last time I saw one it was going for around fifty quid! But the one that Ken put up is DRY WELL!! And it was (oddly) covered up by someone as Ellen and the Shandells years ago (which was a little pointless) ..Don`t ask me why...
  14. Yeah, nice tune-But unfortunately not sought after by me - much too jazzy for my taste. Sounds more like James Last IMO. I`ll stick to my copy of "I won`t be your fool". The more raw the better.
  15. Sounds interesting-i didn`t twig on that it was that moody blues bloke...
  16. Justin HayWARD Yup You`re right!!
  17. Oh I didn`t realise that.... I think I`ve got a copy somewhere..normal dry well..Justin Haywood? Dunno I`ll have a look
  18. You`ve got me there Ken-All I know is Dry Well on LAUREN (orange label) and it was covered up as Ellen and the Shandells...Never seen owt else...so my money`s on dry well and ? glancing through...These Chains Of Love- Chuck Jackson- Wand....Sons Of Robin Stone on ATCO
  19. As I said earlier.ken..dry well on lauren..
  20. But it`s really... DRY WELL-GYPSY on LAUREN It was covered up as Ellen and The Shandels... Does this make me a train spottin chin stroker Ken? I hope not...
  21. I hope not-I`ve always loved it!!
  22. Yep-all this new fangled music that`s (weirdly) also from the sixties? How strange! So you didn`t play to the crowd at the Hollingwood either Chalky?
  23. I keep playing it pretty regularly on my sets every month. More and more people are now hearing it (and therefore dancing to it) and I`m putting it on our anniversary CD. Mighty record that deserves to be more famous-and I aim to make it so..
