  7. Ah..I once had one of those..I forget where I got it...It was a brittle, hard thing (resembled a 7" 78),also with typing on the label..had PREVIEW RECORDS printed on the label. It was ROD KEITH-LIKE THE LORD SAID. I accidentally melted it when I was totally off my face! Which was most of the time! I once previously played it for Saus who told me it was worth 3 or 4 figures..Ah well, easy come easy go....

  13. Bazza-We are talking the 4th of August? Are you sure you weren`t dressed in a tinted shirt and wearing BLACK specs? Seriously though, taking into account the size of the room we can never get a vast amount of people in anyway! But I think it was in fact one of our biggest crowds so far this year! At least it SEEMED to be-maybe because everyone seemed to be on the dancefloor most of the night! Glad you like it though.
  14. Phil-I couldn`t have put it better myself....Right on bro..
  15. Didn`t see you there, Cap`n! You just seemed to "ghost in" from astern!! How be things?
  16. Thanks Bazza-so that one didn`t get past you-it was my last spin at Pilsley! I think Pikey`s got one too-don`t think he plays it that much though...
  17. Blimey! Chris King`s changed a bit! And so`s his accent!!
  18. I admit I`m a deejay. I admit I have quite a record collection. I admit that I only used to attend all-nighters and only treated soul nights as "warm ups" .I also admit to being one of the biggest musical snobs on the scene at one time. I admit that original vinyl 45`s (and also LP`s) are assets which are a sound financial investment because in most cases they will only increase in value. But I love `em that much I`d rather play `em than sell em on! As a kid I could only buy what I could afford and/or find. And nothing`s really changed. Originals are a lovely rare and wonderous thing. But only if you can afford `em! Or find `em. Or both. And most of the fun`s in the hunt. But the main thing I`ve learned over the years (since 1974) is..... "IT`S WHAT`S IN THE GROOVE THAT COUNTS" Love the music. Not the monetary value....
  19. Cap`n! Cap`n? Liniment? So who`s drunk all the rum again?
  20. That`s right, Neil. A sad loss to us all. I received a text from Moz Sunday morning telling us the bad news. Gutted.
  21. Here`s some sad news about Dennis from Clowne, Derbyshire. "Clowne Soul Brother Dennis passed away on Friday 4th August 2006. Our thoughts are with his family at this time." A top man all round and we are glad to have known him and honoured to have him as our friend. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family.
