  6. One of my fave niters ever. Hid in Crofty`s van and got in a few times for nowt. Also used to go downstairs for the soulful garage. Top place!
  7. Well, it`s the first Saturday of the month again. How time seems to pass so quickly since the last one. Anyway-7.30pm while late. 1st September. Playing Quality Soul Across The Board. Cheap late bar. Cheap admission. Great intimate friendly atmosphere with probably the friendliest hosts you are ever likely to meet. Plus one of the best dancefloors you`ve ever danced on. Don`t take our word for it though-come and sample it for yourself. Special Guest: Mark Hopes. How to find us? Whether coming from the North or from the South, Barrow Hill Memorial Club is easily reached from the M1 using either Junction 29 or Junction 30. Follow the signs for Barrow Hill Roundhouse. We`ll be there. Will you?

  9. One of my favourites has to be CAJUN HART.. "Once I stopped to watch a tree grow..." Great stuff.. Oops -just noticed that this was mentioned in an earlier post.. Remember kids..before posting anything, read ALL the thread first!!!
  10. This is on the black CANYON label. Styrene. Booted on vinyl. Worth around 40 quid (or have prices gone up?) Think I`ve got one in one of my boxes but sorry, it`s not for sale as I play to our people every now and then. BTW I assume loadsa people on here have seen the 007 movie THUNDERBALL (1965)? Watch for the KING ERRISON BAND who appear as the bar band in a open air night club. Thank you and goodnight.
  11. Yup-that`s the one!
  12. Come on guys! There`s no accounting for taste. You like what you like. I suppose it`s another story when you`re behind the decks and you expect to fill the dancefloor though....
  13. Well there you go. We`ve all heard of inflatable vinyl...I must be going by 20th century prices..
  14. Ian- Issued in the US on WAND- fetches around 20-25 quid. As we know, Wand originals are a black and white design label. Reissued by Wand in 1974 on their multicoloured design label-worth 7-8 quid. Issued in UK by PYE (Pye Disco Demand) worth around a fiver. Hope this helps.
  15. This will be the one that was issued in 1976. (DJM Records) Dick James Music Records was the home to Elton John`s stuff in his early days. Distributed by Pye Records. Not seen one in a long long time. Worth around a fiver.
  16. If it`s a lesser known spin maybe. But on the whole NO-If I`m playing the classics (or other well played spins) I don`t need to insult my audience`s intelligence by telling them what the record is-they already know! Never speak for the sake of it-you might end up sounding like Alan Partridge! Less is more. And I`m a Yorkshireman with a pretty broad accent now living (and deejaying regularly) in Derbyshire! Some of the locals have trouble picking up my lingo...
  17. Nervous breakdown..Nervous breakdown..Nice flip - I`ve played it before and nearly (as you know) had several (and I`m not talkin about the record) in the past...
  18. I`ve gotta a copy somewhere in me boxes-Not played it in a long time...
  19. I used to use isopropanol but when I melted a Rodd Keith Preview acetate I bought from Wigan when I was "under the influence" kinda put me off since. I used to buy a big bottle for a fiver from the chemist. But as (according to the news) it`s now being (allegedly) used by terrorists in the production of bombs won`t they ask questions?
