  2. I keep joking (well sort of) that's it's a rich mans game these days and I'm the poor kid sat at the back stinking of p*ss

Seriously though, it's not just about the money it takes a lot of years to build a good grasp of the scene, the music, knowledge and a collection. Plus all these put together are nothing without experience. I just don't understand what the rush is? Why not just sit back and enjoy the ride, it's good fun being a punter I wouldn't want to be anything else!

Well put that lady :wicked: :wicked:

    Hi Owen

  4. I'm certain that "You Can't Hide From Yourself" was released In Australia on PIR with "I Don't Love You Anymore" as the B side . I'll try dig out the record and post a scan.

Hi sunny did you find your copy just asking as it would be interesting if it came out in OZ ?

Let me Know either way thanks in advance Kev :hatsoff2:

  5. A record advertised as Mint came through the post the other day from the USA, a gift for the Mrs.

I paid £80 for it and knew that it was £20-40 cheaper than UK dealers, bargain I thought.

It was packaged well and arrived in great time.

I opened it and found that the 45 was indeed in great condition until i checked its level......

A sizeable warp, clearly visible before playing. :dash2:

I am sure I can reduce the warp but contacted the dealer before i did anything.

I took a few pictures of the record and emailed dealer explaining it may have been an oversight but it was advertised as mint,

I was thinking at least a partial refund or something since I would have been left without the other halfs want.

Now, the dealer has been fair enough to suggest I send it back to get a full refund, marking it "refused, return to sender" (this alone gives me no trace that the record goes back to where it came, no documentation).

I wont do this as I would rather register that the record HAS been posted back to him.

He refused me a partial refund because it is not his policy, he suggests that past customers have claimed in order to get better deals.

My dilemma is this.......Do I send the record back and chance getting full refund or let the Mrs get her record on christmas day and fix it myself.

I don't wish to come on here and damage anybodys reputation, just want to know what some of you would do. The dealer has a lot of great feedback with a handful of negative regarding his grading.

As you can see from the pics....it's not that bad a warp but it certainly wasn't mentioned in the description which would have swayed my bid.

Just asking are the warps due to storage or pressing ? :g:

  6. I`m just rekindling my love of Northern Soul at the age of 53 and I`m not actually worried about the number of youngsters involved in the music - just interested is all. This was my first post and probably my last - I don`t need the sarcasm.

Carry on posting it gets better with age trust me

  7. I recently got a 7" frankford wayne 70s acetate of the first choice "gotta get away", one side is a 3:26 version and the other side is a 6 minute version. Was this ever released in the 70s in any format? I'm pretty sure it wasn't a 7" single. Discogs only shows some late 90s remix 12". I guess it was on some greatest hits CD, was this LP ever issued with this track in the 70s? Thanks in advance.

    Hi Boba

Came out on US Warner Bros 8124 Gotta get away(from you baby) / Yes maybe not 1976

  8. they all sound fine kev. on the intro about 1 second before the music starts there is a droning type of sound and they all play a little dull but loud..this applies to the multicoloured and the white/red 103 copies. as i said earlier the later 103a3 copies play a little lower but clearer but its a different take anyway,,rarest format by a mile tho....dave abbott has/had a copy of that

    Hi dave

do you know what the rarity ratio is between the 104A & the 104A3 white copies are ?

    Kev
