I'm sure I have a copy of that UK 7" somewhere, I'll have to look it out.
A lot of soul collectors in the mid to late 70's weren't buying the UK versions of releases and so no doubt it woun't be about in huge numbers (though there are currently a few copies on discogs at under £2).
Got mine for nothing & i mean Nothing m8
-
Wasn't this only available on 7" in the UK ?
I seem to recall the US Cotillion 45 release (of "Welcome To Our World") featuring "Just A Song" as it's B side.
The US 12" single did have this on it's B side though.
Hi Roburt
Yes only UK 7" with the full 6min + version this 1 is in my PLAY BOX

Well spotted Bri, never noticed that myself - but on looking into it. This is actually already documented on Discogs: https://www.discogs.com/Jeff-Perry-Love-Dont-Come-No-Stronger-Than-Yours-And-Mine/release/1999487
Always something new to learn in this game eh?

my friend Joerg Puresoulie found this in Detroit, "I want a guarantee", uncredited 7" acetate. Same tune as Maxine Brown. I know there's also a songwriters demo acetate by Val Simpson but from what I remember that one is very sparse.
My bet it's the Apollas, what do you think?
45 sec clip here: 14 Female Soul.wav

Just been listening to a few James Brown tracks - I have so say I've never been a fan of Jimmy or his style, and for me he isn't the God Father of soul. This is probably another (one of many) artist(s) that I have written off over the years because I didn't like his well known stuff. I know he did a couple of mid tempo records which I like but can't remember them.
So, any suggestions/posts of mid tempo soul from James Brown would be of real interest to me.
Thanks
Peter
