It is possible that someone tried covering it up in the 80's, do you remember when you got it. The reason I say that, is that there were a few Mecca tracks that a few younger DJ's played covered up as they had never gone there and as far as they knew were unknown. I remember being at Hinckley one night and someone playing Innersection C/U, he was most put out when I told him what it was and that it had been played around the country in the 70's as well as being on the Soul Bowl, Front Page lists for a number of weeks.
The speed at which new or newish releases were being played there in the mid to late 70's could make your head spin.
Hi Dave
Got it very recently of Keith Minshull

I bought one of the green ones from "Blues & Soul" mag when they used to advertise records in the inside back cover poss. 72/73. They advertised other side "sho-nuff hot pants" and it cost £0.30p. I got it with a few others and bought it cos it had Detroit in the group name.
I sold it early eighties to Guy for £3.00!

Love it and not just fond memories, think it stands up now. However playing along I'll guess £320, thinking it will stall, guessing rest of world value at £200 . Was it booted on Down to Earth?

I thought there was no definite proof which label came first.?
Hi Kev
I've only got JM's Edition 3
Price for Golden Gate issue £75
Down To Earth Copy £50
He's highlighted that Golden gate was BOOTED not the DTE issues, DTE are 2nd presses so he says so was i wrong for calling them boots so are they legit 2nd ?
There is very little info on the GG issue run out my mate has 2 copies on DTE he's gonna get back to me on run out info asap

I've always thought it's a great Chicago hard-core dancer. I like Mr Manships description, he's got excellent Northern Soul taste!
The price should not be to high as there has been significant number of copies found over the years.
Give us a guesstimate then Solidsoul

depends how much gear (has it kicked in) and beer the dancers have had as well
Ay up Chalky
Great night on Sat M8
I Don't drink or do gear well Half a pint of beer I listen to nu toooooooooooons to me & i have the odd dance
When i DJ i enjoy myself i never intend to fill a dance floor but i watch for head nodders & foot tappers but when somebody has a jig about on the floor i just other than that i'm there to educate try & take soul music forward
I did warm up spots for Keith Minshull for 4yrs had loads of knockers used to bother me but not now I JUST DO'NT GIVE A F**K m8
