I found the owner Rob Russen in New Jersey finding multiples of the Ellingtons and Millionaires originals(dark blue) at his home in Trenton. Rob later reissued the Ellingtons( Silver label) selling the quantity to the late Bernie Binnick( John Anderson's US partner at the time)

It sort of petered out before it really got started

    Timeline was around 1977.

Talkin about classic oldies, here's a tune that is greatly neglected on account of the fact that most folks go

for 't other side. Sounding very "Parliament" - ary , written and produced by William McKinley Hutchison for the

group he was instrumental in forming as The Versatiles, until label boss, Johnny Rivers, changed their name to

5th. Dimension - I’ll Be Lovin’ You Forever

    Greetings Soulsters,

This record seems to have come out on two similar labels 'The Carriage Trade' and just 'Carriage'. any info on the different releases?

    cheers in advance

    dean

    Hi Dean

I've got the Carriage Trade issue

The dead wax readings are all etched in this is how mine reads    S  1   R4267  D.3

    Good Side reads  S  2 R4268   D.3

Never had the other 1 but i'm sure the Pinches bros may know , i don't think myself there is any difference in recordings Toni O played the Carriage Demo out & it sounded the same as mine

Just noticed on You Tube Carriage Demo has published 1972 not on CT label

    Hope this helps

You know what I'm like with 'modern' and 70's soul, I just wondered if anyone knew a record by Sheron Wiley called I Can't Live Without Your Love (Free Flight PB 11485). It's the B side of a ballad called So Close. There are promos of So Close about but I can't find a stock copy. Reason I'm asking, it's actually a pretty good fast dancer which I'm surprised I can't find out about. Sounds like it could have been massive back in the late 70's.

    Hi Pete

Don't know it but i'd like to hear a sound clip always interested in new 7ts dancers
