Downturn In Event Attendances?
One reality is that many, many people want to get up there, DJ and play the music they love, and in some cases spent loads of dosh on, and if they aint given an oppurtunity to do this, they start their own event. If you satisfy part of this hunger, for people to have a go, then you might reduce the number of events. This is not the only factor, obviously, but it's one to think about. Des

Latin Soul Suggestions
Lpook out for the "107th Street Stickball Team" Album on "Dorada" which contains the "On Old Broadway" track, probably harder to find than the 45. One of the foundation blocks of any Latin Soul "collection" has to be:- Hector Rivera (AKA Ray Pollard) - Do It To Me - Barry On the flip of "At The Party" this has to be one of the most accessable pieces of quality Latin Soul at Pocket Money prices.

Autographed Records
Have a copy of "Al Scott" with the words "To Audrey from the best of Al Scott" written on it, which doesn't quite make sense, and curiously is written on the "What Happened" side, which was the intended "B" side, so maybe Audrey was giving this side a few spins in her New York home way before, way before the "Casino" had turned onto it!

Delegates Of Soul - Uplook
It doesn't surprise me that JA had quantity of pristine copies, but I do know that Tim Ashibende had a ruck of these (with the Water damaged labels if my memory serves me right) to the point where he was selling them wholesale to other dealers, so they are out there! i'm currently doing some business with somebody that has a clean one, but is dithering over the price, so let me know if you want me to put an offer in for it, which may persuade him. I did find original "labels" for the said record, and "Uplook" headed notepaper (how cool is that) but sadly no copies of that tune......what a pisser. Des

Leroy Taylor-oh Linda - brunswick
Sorry to go slightly off track, but amongst the oddments I've just picked up in the States was a Leroy Taylor cover of an Eddie Floyd penned tune on "Columbia" records titled "Hey, I Like It", it's a bit early (which no longer seems to be a handicap) but does sound like the "Brunswick" guy.

Benny Curtis
Before this gets confused, by including the "C.B" label, there are Two versions of "Sweet'n" on Resist, one by Wilbur Reynolds on the flip of "Who'll Cry", which sounds "Female" to my Ears, and another release by "Jimmie Lee" which I've most definitely seen, and unless there's some kind of Hormonal imbalance going on, is most definitely a Male version. I concede that there may be another release on the "C.B." imprint, which I'd be interested in seeing.

Benny Curtis
"Benny Curtis - Precious One" did garner a little bit of interest around the "Stafford" era, which was when I bought mine, and is a nice little "R & B" tinged mover. Resist 506 is:- Loose Wig - I'm In Love With You Baby/I'll Always Love You Darlin' This I can only describe as "Blues" with a bit (and I mean a bit) of a beat. The only other "Resist" track I know of, but never managed to hunt down is Jimmie Lee's thumping Male version of "sweet'en" which was played by Mr. Hennigan in the early 1980's, and more recently by Dean Anderson. Apologies for not being able to put up "Sound files", but doing this on the Children's Computer is as technical as I get! DES
