  1. Always keep these, if I find them, including:- - Inspirations - Touch Me, Hold Me, Kiss Me - George Smith - I've Had It - Don Gardner - My Baby Likes To Booaloo (note spelling!) - Nathan Mckinney - Oh How I Love You - Sam & Bill - I'll Try - Dee Clark - That's My Girl/Come Closer - Marvin Smith - Have More Time - Bobby Bland - Shoes - Etta James - Seven Day Fool - Dean Parrish - Tell Her - Exits - Under The Streetlamp Des Parker
  2. Excuse my ignorance Mark, I don't really do a great deal on the computer, I've never even bid on, or looked at E Bay in any depth, and I know this probably isn't the right place to ask (P.M. me if you want), but what is the "other forum" Des Parker
  3. Well, a pat on the back for you Mark, for noticing it as well, or are we having a "who noticed it first" competition. Des Parker
  4. Doesn't it say "Don & Ron" under the "Augustine Twins" on the Duke recording "My Place" or did I imagine this. Des Parker
  5. A cracking example of early group soul is the "Ensenadas - On And On - Tarx" Des Parker
  6. We all know that there are some people who seriously over price their records, often doubling and even tripling the percieved value of a disc (and I'm NOT talking about major dealers here) and there are those that wilfully decieve the buyer, trying to pass off reissues as originals, deliberately lying about the number of copies about etc etc. Unfortunately, ripping people off seems to have some sort of kudos on the Soul scene, whereas selling vinyl competitively is seen as what, at least 3 different dealers have told me is "spoiling it for everybody" Des Parker
  7. There's at least 3 by him on "Glitterfunk", got another one by him which is pretty good that I'm holding for mr. Lloyd to have a listen to. Des Parker
  8. It's sort of similar, but definately not the same, mind you, I remember seeing "The Sunliners - All Alone" once touted on a sales list as the vocal to the "Checkerboard Squares" Des Parker
  9. Have an issue in stock for £20 (Inc P & P) Des Parker
  10. Doesn't Pee Vee stand for "Pancho Villa" who also recorded for the label. Des Parker
  11. Clean Copy, light biro "cross" on one side of label. Full refund if not satisfied. Des Parker
  12. Failing that there's the copy I have in stock for £20 (Inc P & P) Des Parker
  13. Have a promo of Lovations in stock for £20 (Inc P & P) Des Parker
  14. Have this in stock for £20 (Inc P & P) Des Parker
  15. The "Eric & Vikings" Acetate was originally Guy Hennigans, whereas the Barbara Mercer Acetate came via yourself Dave, and is of more recent vintage. Des Parker
  16. Adey Pierce got the 12" Acetate off someone related to someone involved with "Sidra" (if you know what I mean) as well as at least 1 copy of the tough "Gwen Owens" on "Velgo". The Acetate has a prominent hiss throughout, and unless it's my system (I did have the acetate in my posession at one stage) it's pretty much unplayable, but it is a fantastic and historic piece of memorabilia, which I could not justify keeping, so off to E Bay it went. Unfortunately there seems to be a little confusion regarding acetates - If you own an acetate (even if it contains an unissued track) it doesn't follow that you legally own any rights to that piece of music, or does it - I think you just own "a disc", and nothing more, am I right? Des Parker
  17. I always preferred the version of "She Kissed Me" on "Fairmount", which is a tad slower. Also "Jay J. Jones - I Don't Know About You"on V-Tone uses the same backing as "She Tried To Kiss Me". There was also another "Butlers" on Parkway, but this is a White rock/pop combo, so be wary. Des Parker
  18. Have a promo of James Bounty for £22 (Inc P & P) Des Parker
  19. Also, for anyone interested have a white promo of this for £20 (inc P & P) Des Parker
  20. It staggers me to think that I first heard this spun by Keb Darge at Stafford 25 Years ago, and it's been consistently played Year in Year out since then. It also came out on an album, I think entitled "West Coast Review" or something like that. Des Parker
  21. As mentioned previously, the intro for the "Go Teams - Doin It Right" is sampled from "Cindy Gibson - I'll Always Love You - General American" Des Parker
  22. The Go Team sampled "Cindy Gibson - I'll Always Love You - General American" and PAID Frank Bendinelli (producer of CG) to do so, top marks!! Des Parker P.S. Frank loves it, but there again he's more interested in Music than the value of a bit of plastic (poor deluded fool, or is he?)
  23. In reply to an earlier post, the "Four Chaps" ARE the "Fenways" doing a bit of a tongue in cheek spoof, bearing in mind that "True Lovers" was possibly intended as the "B" side, though the joke has been lost on me, for one! Des Parker
  24. NOW SOLD
  25. As someone who deals in all genres of Soul, I try and see the positive in all tunes, from all eras, but this is bad, even if we judge it as a "spoof". I cannot believe that this has ever been played in any type of Northern event and cannot believe that anyone would class this as "Northern" in any shape or form! Des Parker
