  1. I had this and sold it on cheap, what do you rate it at JM , is it rare??? Des Parker
  2. Kenneth & Delroy is also great tune not on the above listing, also what's the numbering on the "Calumet" & "Ben Mo Keith" 45's, does this link in??
  3. Don't forget Gordon Keith "Tell the story/Don't take kindness for a weakness" GK1981 Des Parker
  4. Can't remember the "Blue Tinge", but the sound quality wasn't great, as you said. Sounds like the same copy. Des Parker
  5. The one I had, Dave was the Deep red Audiodisc label, and looked, smelled and tasted old (if you know what I mean. The only writing was the word "Blue" in faint pen on the one side, though this could have been put on much later to help the "D.J." know what side to play!
  6. Honeydripper Can't PM you (but you can PM me) for some reason, on this computer. Can you let me know via PM where you're from, then I can let you know Payment details tonight, on another PC. Des Parker
  7. I bought the disc off Adey Potts and a few Years later sold it on to Vince Ayres. Des Parker
  8. What's on the other side of the Gamble issue of "Gail Anderson - Let's fall In Love All Over" if there is one, and is it any good. Des Parker
  9. I think that if "Mickey Lanay" didn't exist, you'd possibly, maybe, in a moment of weakness consider Diane Minor a cute little record ? However, in comparism to the "Vulcan" release, I'd be interested to see if anyone prefers it! Des Parker
  10. I did have a few of those, and it took me time to sell them at a Tenner. Des Parker
  11. A large percentage of people who buy these records, play them out, or want to play them out. It amazes me that there is still some sort of percieved kudos left in playing out, what I consider dead & played out tunes such as the "Enchantments". Although I suppose it could have been bought by someone who is collecting the "Faro" label?? Des Parker
  12. I have a clean promo copy of "Mary De Loach" on Arctic for £30 inc P & P Des Parker
  13. On the back of the "45" I think it says that the track is licensed from Goldmine or Gold Soul (or something to that effect) so I'm sure that they must have all the information on this track as they own it?? Des Parker
  14. There's also an instrumental on "Doc" can't remember off the top of my head "The Brush" or something like that. Des Parker
  15. It wouldn't surprise me if it wasn't, have you suspicions?? Des Parker
  16. Both the C.D. and "45" were legally issued by Frank Lipsius of "Jamie/Guyden" though whether Moses Smith recieved any dosh is another matter. Moses Smith also did a fantastic version of "Tell It Like It Is" which is still in the can. Des Parker
  17. Turned this one down fairly recently at a much, much lower price. I try and look for the positive in all records, and although this has a little "something" in places, overall it's very disjointed with little structure, I can't see many people singing this to themselves on the way home from an Allnighter. As far as it being "massive" it doesn't deserve it, there are, in my opinion, far , far better examples of this style of "Northern" waiting to get spun. Des Parker
  18. Do you have, or intend to open a "vinyl" record store, as I have a good selection of L.P., C.D. and Cassette free standing metal display stands, all in near new condition, available for incredibly low, low prices, for collection in the South West of England. If interested call Adey on 07711566615.
  19. Mike - when you find out what the rules are, send me a copy, I'm as bewildered as everyone else! Des Parker
  20. A couple of quick replies, please no offence is meant. - The "OVO Legislation" remark was very much "tongue in cheek" but I think most know where I'm coming from, on this one - I've probably got it wrong with labelling the instrumental backed versions as "bootlegs" as I think Arthur Wright, the producer may have had something to do with them, and so are very possibly legal reissues. - Although I wholeheartedly agree with the sentiments re:- Bootlegs, let's not forget that many artists got shafted by the companies and producers in the first place, so some rich bloke spending £1000 on an original still doesn't put food on the table of the impoverished artist, Ronnie Walker made virtually nothing from ANY of his recordings Des Parker
  21. The "Modern" bootlegs with the instrumentals on the flip shouldn't be dismissed, as the instrumentals are really good (if you like instrumentals), and not available on original 45, so technically they pass the stringent OVO legislation and can be played out loud to a paying audience. Des Parker
  22. Anyone who had John Andersons list will remember the sections "Dance Sounds", "Northern" and "Northern Classics", these were items that he had QUANTITY of, and changed only slightly each week as new titles became available and old ones eventually sold out. Just digging out one list (Number 454) reveals the following, in quantity. - Exportations - Vir ro - Nightchill - Tra Sound - Ed Summers - Soya - Carol Anderson - Fee - Z.Z. & Company - Columbus - Constellations - Gemini Star (I Don't Know About You) - Differences - Mon Ca - Mathew Barnett - Puff - Kris Peterson - Top Dog - Tears - Smash - John Bowie - Merben ALL AT BELOW £5 EACH!! Now this is just a selection from just one random list that was to hand, but I get irritated when someone shows me something like "Mathew Barnett" and says "Yeah, one of only about 4 known copies", If a lot of collectors start shuffling off this mortal coil, watch the records come out of the woodwork!! Des Parker
  23. The Betty Everett is the version that you're most likely to hear out, she also did a version of the other side of the Liz Damon track "1900 Yesterday" on Uni records Des Parker
  24. Have one for sale at the moment for £250 (Inc P & P) Des Parker
  25. Absolutely FANTASTIC stuff - F Stroke, makes Soul Source worth logging onto. Pancho Villa did put a 45 out on Pee Vee 100, "Ain't That Bad", which also came out on "Symbol" records , though whether that's the same cut, I don't know. So, apart from yourselves, "The Shaynes" and "Pancho Villa" did anyone else record for "Pee Vee" records. Des Parker
