I only went there once, George - As soon as I walked in the Store he said "Those aren't the prices on the records, you have to bring 'em up to the counter and I'll price them" So what were the mysterious numbers ie. $8/$10/$6 on the corner of EVERY record in the store??? Des Parker

The "Benn X" release is 100% legal, a collaboration between Frank Bendinelli and Dave Brown, of "Philly Archives". According to Frank, Goldmine never paid for putting his stuff out on "45's" but as stated earlier in this thread, these are "Test Pressings" and not releases. As said earlier, what quantity of "Test Pressings" qualifies it as a release. Des Parker

Each to their own and there's no right or wrong on this, I love records, but I'm more into the music than the bits of plastic it's on, whether a record is on a "demo" or "issue" to me is a load of old tosh, I'm more interested in seeing something new, interesting, fresh etc etc. I've no problem with anyone into that classic oldies thing, it ain't wrong, it's just not my thing. To be fair, Kev, the playlists from the Attic would be interesting enough, without the label information!!! Des Parker

I met Chuck Guzelli at the "Attic" one time, and then he turned up at Juddy's night in the Burgh. He gave Johnny Beggs & myself copies of the 12" to play out, and was very keen to get his product "out there" - nice guy! Des Parker
-
As a record fanatic, which I still believe, is covered by the remit of this site, I'm genuinely intrigued when people list a record played and then put (demo) at the end of it, are they different "takes" to the "issues"? Des Parker
-
Probably ordered through "Audiosonic" in Gloucester, Dave. I've got a flyer from Minneapolis, where the "Lamont Cranston Band" or some incarnation of them still plays! Des Parker
-
Do "kenny Smith" & "Troy Keyes" qualify for this genre? Des Parker
-
Two, I'm currently playing that are tremendous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Stokes - Fortune teller - Unissued Alon Guys From Uncle - Like A Good Girl Should - Unissued Swan Des Parker
-
Bought this for £20 off Steve Smith, hammered this to death at home and anywhere I happened to D.J. at, in Gloucestershire in the late 1980's and early 1990's then sold it to Johnny Weston, good oldie. Des Parker

Gail Anderson - "Let's Fall In Love All Over" is on the other side of "Be Proud You're In Love" and also came out on Gamble. The Mal Vena Allen track is called something like "I Fell In Love Last Night" or something like that (I don't have the record to hand, so have probably mis spelt her name as well!) Des Parker
-
3 Records on the label, Dave. Mal Vena Allen, Gail Anderson and I think the Charlie Nisbett trio or something like that - Jazz tune. Des Parker
-
The Lasso one is definately legitimate, in association with Bobby Cutchins. Des Parker

Have this Mint in picture sleeve for £10 including Postage Des Parker

Just a hypothetical question here, and i'm sure that this scenario would never apply to a goldmine product, but what quantity of a test pressing does there have to be, before it is deemed a release, I mean 500 test pressings could be construed as a little over the top! Frank Bendinelli, who owns the "Timmy & Persionettes" and "Ann Byers" tracks hasn't been paid for vinyl releases of these tracks, only the C.D. releases, but as we said, in fairness to Goldmine, I presume they only manufactured a small amount of each title, prior to officially releasing the tracks on either their "Sevens" or "Connoisseurs" imprints. Oh, by the way - I do have copies of both the "Timmy & Persianettes" and "Ann Byers" test pressings available for £10 each, including post & packing. Des Parker

As is generally the case, Chuck Corby owns "Those Lonely Nights" and was totally unaware of this version until last Year. I'm sure this is just an oversight on the part of the producers of this tune, though it may well be a coincidence that "Breakaway" sounds incredibly similar to "Those Lonely Nights". Des Parker

Over the last 30 Years or so, I've bought, sold, traded, rebought, sold, found virtually all of the records above and I'm sure there are many, many more people on this site in the same boat, if not moreso. To us, we've "grown up" with these tunes, and to us they are the "same old same old". This doesn't mean that they are bad records, and I'm kinda envious of those of you hearing these for the first time, but I can't be dishonest and pretend these are somehow fresh tunes! If you got £10 for Ruby Andrews in the "80's" you were doing well!!! Des Parker
