    if anyone has anything else to add about the soul scene's relationship with this tune, rarity, how many were pressed etc that hasnt already been said then please feel free to pm me. seemed like the thread was starting to become about the re issues which is not what i asked so decided to kill it off having got some interesting info. apologies just didnt realise I had to explain that, Mike. But now I have so hope thats OK.

    thanks for the info fellas. i knew the peg leg bates part and the re issue history (its just been compd again on some disco comp by dave lee i think from memory) but not the soul scene side. so it is a mid 70s tune for sure? anyone know how many of the ramco issue were pressed? ive got a nice spare and would like to move it on, so any info to help me do that is gratefully received .

    i really love this tune and not being a soul scene person in the 70s and 80s wondered where it was first played and by who? was it a new release? how rare is it etc etc many thanks

    im not religious at all but the fact that someones beliefs are passionately sung in a song does not mean i enjoy it less. makes it a touch better if anything. dont have to be a god fearing / loving to enjoy La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, for example. this tune just went for $350 ish on ebay so kudos if you got one for next to nothing.

    £1500 is very very fanciful money. it wasnt even that price when there was apparently one known copy. ive bought copies at £250 and £400 from this site 2 years apart and there's no precedent i can see for a hike of £1,000. ebay entry of $850. if you can put me in touch with this person that would be great and ill talk to them. many thanks.

    theres a few of Soul Sam's current / recent spins hidden in there played earlier than he and the UK soul scene did. Mainly funkier stuff or more left field soul sounds like Clofer on Rosemont or Authntiks Unlimted on Cosmos, good Loving on Kingston, off the top of my head. I dare say there's lots of bits you guys may not of picked up on yet. whether any of them will constitute 'big' tunes for you i dont know but fresh tunes for sure.
