  1. It would certainly be unique, not sure it would be worth £10k though
  2. Probably the case as mentioned by Gene-R Regards
  3. Recently seen listed on a well known site The Miracles - You Really Got A Hold On Me - UK Oriole American 45-CBA 1795, so decided to check my copy out. I noticed that in the dead wax, as well as having UK stamping there is also the 'nashville main' stamp. The Contours - Shake heery (45-CBA 1799) also has 'nashville main' and Do You Love Me (45-CBA 1763 has 'Bell Sound'). Others I have on said label, Fingertips Pt1 , etc, do not have these markings though. Just wondered why these stamps are in dead wax and are there any other UK releases that have them. Just curious and any info appreciated. Regards.
  4. Not been on SS in a while (as a logged on member) so didn't realise Chalky had completed the set. As mentioned above excellent work by everyone involved, especially Derek who not only produced the mag but also kindly gave us permission to upload for the enjoyment of soul fans past, present and future. Regards Bob
  5. Link works fine for me
  6. were there two dimples (:) omitted between the 4 and 0. know this don't help but could not resist as temptation is my only weakness
  7. Can't understand this, just google Robert Thomas Salvation and there's one on Discogs for £64. May seem pricey but considering what people are paying sounds rather cheap to me. Regards
  8. I'm with you on that one (and no doubt others are too). I love them all, but occasionally loathe them when overplayed at venues or more especially on radio or at weddings, the latter thinking there were only 8 releases on the label. OMO (that's Only My Opinion as opposed to IMO) Regards
  9. Is the Andantes "It's a funny way" rarer than THAT'S A FUNNY WAY?
  10. Don't Pity Me - Joanie Sommers / Sue Lynne Also by the Velours (other side to I'm Gonna Change) A top play in my house at one time Regards
  11. Doesn't get played because there are too few original copies available. But o'h, what a record
  12. £910 in 2012 on Popsike
  13. Like the Jimmy Raye and Gary Haines boots then. Thanks for info chaps. ATB Bob
  14. Just to top off "this beautiful day" (no pun intended), here's issue six of Beatin Rhythm. Another excellent issue (IMO) including excellent pics of discs being reviewed and also the Stateside listings (inc American label source) Enjoy the read. R E Gards Bob Beatin Rhythm Issue Number 6.pdf
  15. Seen one in wants, my question is what's the difference (apart from price) between the repro and original. Does original have Nashville Matrix stamped in run out groove? Is repro Off centre? Any info appreciated ATB Bob
  16. Looking forward to reading this as never seen a copy of it before (similar sensation to hearing a record or seeing a copy of for the first time methinks) ATB Bob
  17. A good question, some might say it's both, whereas others may beg to differ. ATB
  18. Just uploaded issue 24 again (in original post) as had trouble with it originally (#24 and #27 mixed together somehow) R E Gards Bob
  19. Deleted upload as there are duplicates uploaded now ATB
  20. "Ah" issue 5 that discussed Polydor releases that included a wide range of records from the US of A, and also cover versions mostly played at the Torch in SoT." Polydor was also responsible for other labels including Track, that as well as releasing stuff by Jimi Hendricks also released "If this is the Love" by the Precisions on Drew. Info for new to the scene, apologies to them that know already. ATB Bob
  21. Absolutely SPOT ON. and them Demo's where are they now? (please don't reply "in collections" thanks)
  22. Was messaged that Issue 24 went into Issue 27 at page 30, have uploaded again in chronological order, can someone check it out please and respond. Many thanks for your perseverance. Checked it myself and don't upload proper. (in key of E minor) shall try again tomorrow ATB Bob
