  1. Frank Wilson on Power, Chris Clark on Joker, both labels from LA, both Jobete Music, both Motown artists, both moonlighting?
  2. Is there a Sonny Daye connection too, on Power Records?
  3. Jonah (RIP) from Coalville had all 16 lp’s at one time. Sold them all for 50p each for some strange reason.
  4. Wasn’t that a blank white label press, nothing to do with Soul supply?
  5. I'll have please if still for sale. Regafds
  6. As in the listing
  7. Shades of Soul Issue 16 has a listing supplied by Tom Creedon/Derek Pearson.
  8. Neil Rushton Heart of England Soul Club. About 900 in attendance. Think they had two dayers and one niter (pre Chris King days)
  9. Issued on U.K. London too, probably where it was picked up for first plays at the Wheel.
  10. JM sold it for £8 according to Shades of Soul Issue 17, that also has a photocopy of Carl Fortnums copy on the cover.
  11. Recall that soul nights were held at The George (beneath Baileys at the Haymarket) in mid 70’s, that proved very popular.
  12. Remember the dayers at Leics Tiffs, which I am sure some of those pics are from.
  13. If memory serves me right the main room was circular (or ellipse) with a balcony above and the main stage under a slight alcove. As usual I could be wrong.
  14. Went to the Painted Lady with Richard Lord and Jonah. Remember Seven Dwarfs being a big sound at the time, though Sam didn’t have a copy as he didn’t like it.
  15. Is this an issue or demo as does not say it’s a demo. Thought issues were red, though I could be wrong.
  16. Ultra Sonic matrix, is that the same?
  17. Appreciations - I Can’t Hide It Forgot how good this is. https://www.google.com/search?q=appreciations i can't hide it
  18. First time I heard Lover by De-lites was when Sam spun it at Notts Palis in the 70’s, though not sure if he had first play. Seem to think he had first play of Toni Basil, Breakaway, covered as Lada Edmund, break these chains. Think both are great tracks But as always, I could be wrong.
  19. Did JM first play this at the Manchester Ritz and it cleared the floor. He then promptly sold it to Ian Levine for £3. I think the copy then found it’s way to Sam who made it big (Also the Vicar had a copy) Think I’m correct, sure I’ll be told if I’m not
  20. Fantastic record, first played by Colin Curtis at Blackpool Mecca
  21. None the less, other side to ‘Focused On You’, is also very good, it’s needless to say. Excuse the pun.
  22. Was played at Stafford, reviewed by Carl Fortnum in Shades of Soul too. Was a programme on BBC 2 a few years ago about the people behind the record label, good viewing too.
  23. Recall Simon (Sid) Bray telling me he had a Canadian Brunswick (issue/demo?) of DTIOOTW that he sold to Tim Brown a number of years ago.
