Coalville Soul Club @ Hugglescote Social Club Resident DJ’s Ken Sylvester, Rob Gray and Jed Purkis This months guest DJ - Mick Jay Good morning one and all and we have our second event of this year and we are slowly getting back to normality and this month we at Coalville Northern Soul Club are having our second event of the year @ Hugglescote Social Club, Dennis Street with our great resident DJs Rob Gray, Jed Purkis & Ken Sylvester. Our guest this month is a well-known DJ from Grantham Soul Club Mick Jay. The date 29th October and we start at 8.00pm and finished at midnight. I have a real one with proper stamps in matrix, I got other two recently and noticed difference. Not too sure but one label has to be incorrect!!!!

Apart from the obvious, what are the differences between these two releases? Both are “bell Sound” stamped, one has an H in runout, the other has an A (or V) in runout. I do appreciate they are legit? reissues but can’t figure out different label layouts. Any thoughts?

Rhythm Rascals On Sonic - Ever Played?

Just come across this topic. Have had both Chuck Corby (Fee Bee) and Rhythm Rascals (Sonic) for years and to my ears Chuck Corby has trumpet/horns in backing whilst Rhythm Rascals has saxophone. Also Rhythm Rascals does not have as much base. Couldn’t choose between them as I think both versions are great. -

Whats with the Rydal, Pennsylvania connection, with regards Doc Records, Champion Records (distributed by Tollie (is that part of Vee Jay, Chicago?)) Pipkins, Ed Cobb, Jobete? or is there no correlation!

Could Hutch, co writer be, Willie Hutchinson as there may be a connection? He also being LA based. Think there is also a Pipkin\Gordon connection too, as in Modern records, which threads back to Jobete music. Although i may have it all wrong.
