  1. Amazing...an old Wigan Instrumental, forgotten by the masses, 20 quid all day, a few spins undercover at Bury and look at that, Jeez Mad prices not withstanding there are some great underplayed records getting spins at various venues and sounding brilliant IMHO, keep it up guys
  2. It sure was Simon, and we had the conversation about where his copy came from.........
  3. Great Record ....heard this played out at Bury last month
  4. Hi Phil ALL copies of this, even the handful of initial demos were of poor sound quality, apparently due to the fact the recording was taken from a demo tape rather than a master. It's always, IMHO, held this record back from being played out more and giving it the exposure it deserves. You are right about an album. I spoken to someone who may be able to take this further for/with you..... ATB BazM

  6. Hi I've got one VG+ drop me a PM on what you think on value if your interested Best BazM
  7. Hi, sorry can't scan it for you but pretty rare record on All Platinum, Bob Hinsley used to feature it a few years ago and i've pestered him to sell it to me since then. Books at £400 in the guides Top Class Northern IMHO BazM
  8. Early doors spin at t'Orwell for me and the Plumbmeister ....Tune! Baz M
  9. Spot On! on all levels IMHO.....................Can only speak from my recent experience but for me Lowton and the aformentioned Mr Jones Bury gig, push the musical boundaries a little more than your average soul neet and so are a worthy of a visit for those who like to be in bed at a reasonable time. As a bonus every so often they metamorphasise into an All Nighter for special occasions just to keep everyone happy. The choice is there..... BazM
  10. I've had a pic sleeve 12" for years and never noticed it was a Promo and now you mention it not seen many other copies
  11. Not the hardest by a long shot but not easy to find pprobably reflected by the fact it's $178.00 on e-bay with 4 days to go.....always liked it IN DEMAND ! 12" PRECIOUS "taboo" US
  12. Dave that's why it too me so long to get a copy that bugger Plumb covered up the lable
  13. Orig Funder Cooper very rare imho...........found one in a collection after looking for many years for it BUT i think it's been booted as a look-a-likey copy in the last couple of years (as has quite a few 12's of this type due to demand on the euro boogie scene)
  14. Mines orange! (there's an old joke about 'Wotsits' there somewhere) and you're right the bass line kicks on the 12" There's another thread is the remix 12" better that the orig version, Alfie Davidson and Velvet Hammer as an example. Not particularly on topic for this thread but Shep Pettibones remix of Skyy 'Lets Celebrate' for me has always been an exapmle of the remix taking a track to a new level......................................
  15. Must admit John because i'm not actively seraching for some of these 12's as much as I used to I can't really comment on exactly how rare they are although I'd have thought the Magnificents isn't that common. I do know that it doesn't take much these days to go from a few copies on gemm to hens teeth in a fairly short space of time. Saw a 'proper' copy of the Jay Player Bevnik 12" on e-bay not so long ago and that was the first one i've seen for a long while (it was always hard to find when it was being played AND booted) so I guess as you say, probably right to 'buy first ask second' or at least 'if in doubt, get money out!'........
  16. Bout £150.00 on the Bay recently..........those Frenchies seem to like this a LOT BazM
  17. Here's a few Mark IV Signs of a Dying Love OTB 12" and obviously 'If you cant tell me anything' by them Eddie Owen Shake Off That Dream Solid Gold 12" Sister Sledge As Atlantic Promo Only 12" Magnificents On My Way Up DT 12" Chestnut Brother Sweet Little Rita Street Level 12" Velvet Hammer I Cant Belive Chila 12" plus, rare and early Jobelle Never Gonna Let You Go Jan 12" 1976 - had 25 of these from Dave R wish I still had 'em they'd be on e-bay tomorrow BazM
  18. One residing at Maleedy towers! ATB BazM
  19. Yep it's 'You Dont Know' UK 12" cant remember the lable think it's LOGO ...........fetchin big boogie bucks at the mo Baz M
  20. Hi Derek Got 'Everybody' by him sent thru as a 7" promo dont know about 'Sunshine' BazM
  21. Bin done B4 this one Steve..........gotta agree with Pete as well, always got to Wigan early doors for Russ, enjoyed his spots, set the tone of the night, but he did go off the boil in the latter days. My fave Russ record was Patrice Holloway 'Stolen Hours' (plus the one I mentioned last time which was Dee Dee Barnes). Always liked Patti Labelle Lovin' Rules, Lou Roberts 'You Fooled Me' and Mikey Lanay 'I'm Gonna Walk'. He also played (albeit briefly) and later sold me Sonny Herman 'What About Me' on Utopia, Sammy Lee 'What Goes Around' on Promco, so he cant have been all bad.
  22. Does anyone know of a 'proper' Philly Int 12" promo of this? (by 'proper' I mean not the Larry Levan mix bootie)
  23. I think you 4th scene reference could well come to fruition in the special 4th room at Blackburn KGH on the 27th Steve, this thread pretty much represents the kind of music that will be featured.
