  4. So, here’s a gig I’ve been anticipating for a while. Over the past months, I’ve seen Dave Hutch promote TIFFANYS SOUL CLUB in ACCRINGTON both on Facebook and Soul Source, and his efforts have not gone to waste. You only have to see the reviews and the great videos from the monthly Saturday nights, to see the venue going from strength to strength every month. A great attendance and over 750 members on the Facebook group Tiffany’s Soul Club are testament to that. This Saturday August 27th, Myself and fellow CULCHETH resident DJ, BOB HINSLEY make the trip to Accrington to join fellow guest Steve Davies and the TIFFANY’S residents for a great night of Northern Soul from all eras and all styles. The boxes will be packed with tunes from the past five decades, floor fillers, crowd pleasers, rare and some of our current featured sounds. So, looking forward to a great night out this Saturday, hope to see you there…
  5. Bloody 'Ell Bob, you've got a good memory...Gotta say though ME? Giving away promos? Musta bin very, very drunk You're right though it was a spare, great tune and one I'll be looking forward to hearing in the modern room on Sept 3rd
  6. Saturday SETPTEMBER 3rd sees another night of TOP QUALITY SOUL in TWO ROOMS, as we bring TWO VERY SPECIAL GUESTS to CULCHETH! The first time since lockdown, we are pleased to welcome back to CULCHETH, possibly the scene’s busiest DJ GINGER TAYLOR and his box of MONSTER SOUNDS!!! Not only that but we are equally delighted to announce that BOB HINSLEY will be making his return to the MODERN ROOMS, his first MODERN set, since the fantastic and much missed, TSOP PRESTWICH soul nights. GINGER and BOB are joined by main room residents LOWTON CIVIC main man KEV MURPHY, Young Gun, JORDAN WILSON, Manchester’s MICK HOWARD and fresh from Ashton Ukrainian Club, SIMON INGHAM. The Modern Room crowd, in addition to BOB HINSLEY, will be entertained by Cassinellis and Newton Cricket Club DJ, Bill Wildman, Lowton and Orwell spinner, Baz Maleedy and ‘So Soulful 70’s’ main man Steve Plumb. So, join us on SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 3rd for a GUARANTEED Great Night Out!

So, first chance I’ve had to sit down and put some words together about Saturday…So, first and foremost, thanks to everyone who travelled to be there from Chesterfield, Harrogate, Carlisle, Stockport, North Wales, St Helens, Preston, Leyland, Hull, Warrington and Wigan to name a few. Hope there was something for everyone across the two rooms, both were busy and great to see smiling faces in both. The resident DJ’s in both rooms were ‘plying their trade’ and the guests pulling out all the stops to keep the dancefloors moving. Carl and Maria were back for a second stint and decided to go for the jugular with a FANTASTIC selection of TOP QUALITY oldies mixed with some of their signature tunes, even Geoff P was impressed Here’s what they played BILLY WOODS LET ME MAKE YOU HAPPY - PROFESSIONALS THATS WHY I LOVE YOU - MOMENTS YOU SAID - JUST BROS SLICED TOMATOES - JOHNNY HAMPTON NOT MY GIRL - TRANELLS BLESSED WITH A LOVE - GWEN OWENS JUST SAY YOURE WANTED - NEW WANDERERS AINT GONNA DO YOU NO HARM - TERRI GOODNIGHT THEY DIDNT KNOW - JOHNNY HENDLEY MY BABY CAME FROM OUT OF NOWHERE - YVONNE VERNEE JUST KIKE YOU DID ME - PHONETICS JUST A BOYS DREAM - JOHN AND THE WIERDEST NO TIME - DON VARNER MOJO MAMA - JOHN HARRIS AND SOUL SAYERS HANGIN IN - TIMI YURO IT’LL NEVER BE OVER FOR ME - INEZ FOX JINGLE BELL ACETATE - SAM WARD SISTER LEE - KARMELLO BROOKS TELL ME BABY - FRANKIE KARL YOU SHOULD O HELD ON - AL WILLIAMS I AM NOTHING - LOU PRIDE IM COM’UN HOME - LILLIE BRYANT MEET ME HALF WAY - EDDIE HOLMAN WHERE IM NOT WANTED The Modern Room was bouncing from start to finish with everything from the latest new vinyl releases to 70’s classics, and everything in-between being played So, once again thanks to one and all, looking forward to the continued growth of CULCHETH being THE, must visit, monthly, two room soul night, and delivering a quality night for all to enjoy on the first Saturday of the month Next Night September 3rd with Special Guest GINGER TAYLOR and a certain Mr BOB HINSLEY making a return to the Modern Rooms!
  8. WE ARE HOT!
  9. There are some great ‘oldies’ from the earlier days of the scene that you kinda take for granted cause for whatever reason they were pressed and became available to all. They were generally part of the fabric of going out to All-Nighters, listening to records, dancing and collecting a few ‘bits’ as you went along…but then you see a ‘real deal original’ and it stops you as you look and reminisce of those halcycon days… Here’s two examples for me, both of which will be featured at CULCHETH This Saturday with Carl and Maria Willingham guesting
  10. Phil Wainwright played this at Dab of Soul last Saturday, and we commented that it sounds great in a big room, so step forward the big room at Culcheth this Saturday and take a bow John Harris and the Soul Sayers
  11. Orange is the new Yellow! maybe not but after speakin to Maria, unbelievebly this got missed off the playlist last month, so looking forward to hearing this gem on Saturday
