Cheers Ste. As you say a great photo but even I could have got one that good in a studio with perfect lighting, firing off countless shots until you got the exact one you wanted or had envisaged in your head.

Country file has just announced the winner and cover photograph for the 2020 calendar. So disappointed that it was set up in a studio when there was amazing wild pictures that where so much more difficult to obtain and undoubtedly one off events in extreme weather. What do you think? And it's not sour grapes before anyone says so because I didn't even enter the competition. Just think that it's a wildlife calendar and it should be wildlife, just the same as you can't enter domestic or zoo animals for the competition Steve

Here's two pictures of Carew Castle. Both taken at approximately 9.30 pm this evening .One in natural light and the second one has had a torch shone on the castle from approximately 200 yards away across a tidal mill pond . I was hoping to get the castle with the Milky Way above and behind it but it was too high in the sky I obviously need to practice this form of photography but I,m quite happy with my first attempt, would love to know if anyone on here has tried anything similar and how did you get on Steve

Greenfinch are so uncommon near me mate. Goldfinch are the dominant force in my garden up to 16 at a time.

Ditto to all the above. Greatest time of my life without a doubt. 1975 until Dec 81. So much of the music that was played there went on to become the sound track of my life. Many of those records are still amazing and still sound as good today as they did nearly 45 years ago. Made friendships that are still going strong today. Loved and lost. ......... I'm still going to nighters and soul nights across the UK now.at the age of 60 That's the effect that it has had on me. Steve -

Been there my friend. Sometimes just shutting the door on the world does you the world of good, you time, thinking what if , what now, why this, why that. Going through every emotion, crying, sadness smiling when you look back at the good times, Its your journey my friend but your never alone. Steve

Dave. My deepest condolences, raw emotion in these circumstances is such a thing to deal with and everyone does so in there own way. It made me a stronger person when i lost my parents and brother and i think it will you. Time is a great healer my friend and having Ruby around will slowly but surely help in the healing especially knowing how much you love animals Steve.

Northern soul collecting!! Is it a con?
Winsford Soul replied to Mal C's topic in All About the SOUL
Paul. Trust you are well and safe mate. There's to many people hoping to make a profit from this music scene (thats now become trendy again ) that we love and has been apart of our lives forever without them giving a flying fcuk because it's seen as trendy to mention northern soul in whatever circles they mix in and to have certain records to show off to their friends. Didn't realise that it was the royal iris mate. Infamous club, plenty of my non soulie mates played out on her a few times even think one of them done the doorman job or filled them in ( more likely ) . Never floated my boat ( pun intended ) to have a night out in liverpool in whatever shape or form. Soul loving Man United fan no thanks. Steve
