  1. Brilliant views with blue skies. Been cloudy all day here
  2. Wow. That would have been fantastic Dave. Where you lived at the lodge was a perfect place for them with all those dry stone walls
  3. Mike. Dublin again. We all decide to get changed on the ferry to save time when we got to the nighter up at the commercial rowing club. Once we got to O Connel Street there where no buses going that particular way up past phoenix park along the River Liffey and trying to get a taxi in Dublin City centre on a Saturday night is near impossible so me with a bright idea said come on let's walk its not far. Its a straight road. 1 hour 20 minutes late we finally got to the venue. Did I get some abuse .
  4. You started it. She has tastes though with the tunes you mention. Jimmy Fraser is one of those you had to be around at the time it was played records to like , just like some of the Casino stuff that has been mentioned
  5. Stoat. . Absolute pleasure to see and photograph one of the best UK mammals , they are a member of the Mustelidae family along with there smaller cousins the weasel and bigger cousins Otters, Polecats , Badgers and illegally released American Mink which are now happily declining now that Otters are re-establishing themselves
  6. Jay in the snow. In the garden this morning. Picture taken through the kitchen window
  7. Just read it Mike, Very interesting reading . I love reading about the venues that where before my time.
  8. Where do I start . Getting a taxi from Widnes to Morecambe nighter because no one would give me n my mate Al kinsella a lift because everyone said that we were mad. Not once but twice. . How very dare they. Coming out of Wigan maxines nighter when there was a Robin Reliant on its roof and we all just walked past it as though it was normal . Hitched to Dunstable nighter and when I finally got to the Queen Hall at 7.30am a sign on the door said it was double booked and had moved to wherever it was, finally got the venue and heard the last 3 records. Got home 3.30am Monday morning. Spur of the minute decision went over to Dublin for a soul night. Got to the venue at 10.30pm only to learn that it ended at midnight . First Ferry back to Holyhead was 9.30am Sunday. That's just a few . Omg Len what have you started
  9. Nothing changes John. . Hope your keeping safe and well my friend.
  10. Some fantastic instrumentals. Afternoon of the rhino is probably my favourite
  11. These Barn and Short eared Owl pictures where taken just under 12 months ago at Lunt meadow nature reserve on Merseyside, yesterday the river Alt burst through and destroyed approx 20 metres of flood embankment causing massive flooding upto 3 metres deep. The hedge and handrail on the right hand side of the picture eventually goes to the fence and the post where the barn Owl was sat . The trees in the background in the Short eared Owl picture are the ones that can be seen in the distance of the flooded picture. It will be months before its accessible and the damage can be assessed properly
  12. Not a great picture of a female Greater Spotted Woodpecker, it was taken through the kitchen window but it shows perfectly how the woodpeckers use their what looks a forked tail to help them to hold on to vertical tree branches
  13. I would say exactly the same thing if it was Keep on keeping on , Jeanette . Time for my tin hat me thinks
  14. Was a brilliant floor filler at Station Road along with the likes of Nine times out of ten. Too many people, etc Time and place thing.

  17. I drive past the Elizabethan suite a couple of times a week and its got so many memories. I for one will be adding my voice and concern over the possibility that they get redeveloped. Bury are actively pursuing a green belt housing plan that at the moment which in itself needs stopping. Thanks for sharing the link.

  21. John. It was appreciated when you and Carys drove over from Betws. Especially in the winter when if it snowed or was torrential rain you wasn't guaranteed to get back home. Hope you're keeping safe and well. Ste
  22. Think Barry and Pete started Winsford in about 94 /95 if memory serves me right . I didnt get to the first few because Thomas was only born in 1993 and had Dad duties but they where absolutely rammed when i actually got there in about 96 . I also left plenty of shoe leather on the dance floor but mine was from walking across it to the record bar. Lol. It was also a massive privilege to become part of it. Martyn played his part by DJ,ing there which was always a pleasure
  23. Male Marsh Harrier. There,s more and more of these majestic and still very Rare ( 450 UK breeding pairs ) birds of prey deciding to spend the winter here in the UK instead of flying down to sub- Sahara Africa . Its a massive privilege to see these birds and even more so to actually manage a photograph
