  3. Tonight,s Moon over Manchester. Cant remember the last clear night we had here when there was a visible Moon
  4. Like you say mate good memories and some great nights there with like minded people. Musically up there pushing boundaries.
  5. What a nice gesture 👏
  6. Graham. You can't do that. I know one of them .Her name is Michelle .
  7. When i sold my collection about 6 years ago i had a choice of selling the lot or keeping the one,s that where given me or had special meanings. I had to many of the latter so like a idiot i sold them all. Two records but more importantly the two sleeves autographed with personnel messages from the artists where still in the box when i let them go. What a DICKHEAD Terry Callier. Ordainary Joe Cadet demo with the words written by Terry to me. Steve your just a Ordinary Joe, lots of love Terry Callier and keep your soul TC Bobby Paris signed the sleeve of my Night Owl. Cameo issue To Steve one of the original Night Owls . Keep the faith Steve. Love Bobby Paris Yes i can pay a fortune and get the two records back but i can never replace the sentiments written by these two legends in my life. Especially since Terry passed away a few years ago ( rest in peace ) and i still treasure the photograph taken of the two of us at Trentham so not a record as such but something soul related Ste
  8. And I have plenty of recycling ♻️ industry experience. 🤣
  9. Just had a look on Lou,s Facebook page. Some brilliant pictures and memories. The DJ I couldn't remember his name was Kev Edwards. , and it also reminded me of Friar Tuck DJ . Who I had completely forgotten about. Thank you 🙏 Had even forgotten about these dayers. Just downloaded this from the Carlton club Facebook page Ste
  10. Unfortunately I'm not on Facebook.
  11. The entrance to the club was indeed up a steep staircase after going through what looked like a normal front door in-between two shops. Clive your memories are correct about the Sunday night as the soul night's where on different nights over the years and only a 5 minute walk from either Bank Quay or Central train stations.
  12. Rob. The DJ, s where Brian Rae , Keith Brady ( rip ) Biff ( rip ) Dave Langley ( rip ) among others for the northern nights plus they used to have a jazz funk / modern soul night on Sundays run by a fella who,s name escapes me at the moment. ( Kev somebody who used to run Newton cricket club nights. ) They also had artists on. Only went a few of those because it clashed with a fantastic soul night in Widnes at the navy club. The last time it was decorated they removed some plasterboard walls and behind them was original posters from when the likes of Jackie Wilson appeared at the club. That would have been amazing to see them. Don't know what happened to them.
  13. https://www.digitalcameraworld.com/news/move-af-points-with-your-eyeball-canons-eye-controlled-focus-coming-back This will be crazy if it works properly
  14. https://www.warringtonguardian.co.uk/news/19101161.new-cafe-bistro-named-warringtons-carlton-club/ This was one of the most iconic soul clubs in the country and is being remembered. It was a trip into enemy territory ( Rugby league rivals ) for me and the many Widnes soulies that made the 7 mile journey on a weekly basis. Had some special nights there and made lifelong friends.
  15. So sad. Marc was a top lad , vastly underrated DJ and genuine nice guy . Sleep well in soulful peace Ste
  16. Golden Eye from yesterday at Elton. Martyn has some fantastic pictures showing the male in its courtship display which i was hoping to capture but not yet, maybe a bit early Thought i had managed to see my first Otter on the river Irwell yesterday morning but it turned out to be two Mink swimming behind each other. These illegally introduced Mink have been and are causing havoc with the natural UK species since being released by animal right's activist in the 70,s, the quicker they are trapped and culled the better. There is one big glimmer of hope in the fact that now Otter,s are re-populating the Rivers , Lakes and Canals the Mink are slowly been displaced and killed by the Otter,s
  17. This debate has been going on since the Casino closed in 81 and probably before that with the closure of the Wheel and Torch. Look at the prices of northern soul records at the moment. There is no sign of it slowing down , infact the prices are still growing year on year for most items. And the rarest US and now UK ones are fetching premium prices un heard of even five years ago.
  18. Thanks for posting as always mate. Its really appreciated. Incredibles is a nice price. Samuella Williams. Never even heard of it and its over a grand 🤔

Surely a unissued 45 is just that. So in theory there won't be any 🤣🤣🤣 Hat , coat ,door
  22. Spent many a happy hour in M,s . Certainly had a totally different feel from the main room. 2nd alcove up from the far doors in the infamous entrance corridor past the DJ,s was the Widnes branch of Mr M,s . Only ever went up on the balcony in there a few times entertaining lady friends.
  23. https://pembsbirds.blogspot.com/2021/02/fishing-owl.html?m=1 Had to share this. Tawny Owl catching fish from a garden pond of a night. So we just can't blame Herons anymore
