  1. Rod. Us mere mortals are only just catching up mate. Ste
  2. Had to share this. A white Stork ( wild bird ) has been sighted Monday near Kirkham, Lancashire and over Warrington, Cheshire today. Simply amazing Photo taken by Paul Bennett
  3. Thank you for sharing and posting as always Rob. Your not out of date mate. The buyer of the tangeers is our of there tree, almost double what its worth. It peaked about £750 a few years ago and was falling in price again. Crazy PS Chuck Cockerham. Is possibly the best record that will be auctioned this year. I wish I had the spare cash to have bought it. Love it
  4. Never had the Essential northern soul guide so I can't comment. But I'm guessing it is more or less the same as the others. The only one that I thought was relevant was the original boot leg guide as the price of the records change so quickly that they are completely out of date as certain records become fashionable and price's rise just as others are not played and as a consequence the price drops. And the big , rare tunes are just getting more expensive month on month. But they do make very interesting reading. Enjoy your choices Ste
  5. Louise. I'm more than grateful for everything opening up again and like you I can't wait to be getting back to the clubs , listening to this music we love and seeing people we love and have really missed so much , but I thought, obviously wrongly that with all the problems covid has caused that common sense could have prevailed regarding opening up but hey what do I know. . Victor Meldew hat in the bin.
  6. Soulies have died from different things over the last 40 odd year I know of.Many really good friends. What is the difference and what has that got to do with anything
  7. I'm not bothered about soul nights because it's impossible to not clash with events even in the same town or city . I don't normally bother with them anyway unless it's before a nighter so I will call in on the way. But to have nighters on the same night sometimes less than 100 miles apart is ridiculous and means that both promoters loose and I know from personal experience how much they can cost to run and even as few as twenty people goiing the other venue can mean the difference between breaking even or losing money. Where did I mention soul nights. Read the original post it said nighters clashing before you start ranting about this thread taking the biscuit.
  8. Tree Bumblebee. Much better photo than the earlier ones. Taken in the garden today. European species of Bee that was first recorded in the UK in 2001 and has slowly spread North
  9. Female Greenfinch in the garden at lunch time . There was a stunning coloured Male that refused to show for a photograph and stayed behind a branch. As normal with my garden bird pictures this was taken through the kitchen window
  10. Snow Moon picture edited to add this mornings picture . See earlier post for comparison pictures
  11. That's brilliant . He is so chuffed
  12. . The virtual nighter is Saturday night otherwise your right mate. . I remember posting a picture last summer as I had a brew sat in the garden on my way home from the virtual nighter .
  13. Tonights Snow Moon. I have set the alarm for 6am to try and photograph the Moon as it sets behind the trees as its at 100% full and i will hopefully post a picture for comparison Second picture taken at 6.30am today
  14. Just looking at the events guide as things start to hopefully open up and something like normality returns. It certainly has returned as normal on here with two nighters already clashing. So after 15 months of nothing, nighter promoters haven't managed to sort anything out and it's as it was Thoughts please Ste
  15. Just had a Bee on my window outside. Not sure of the ID it could be a hairy footed flower Bee. I would love to know because if it is its extremely rare PS. Just been informed that it's probably a Tree Bumblebee. They only arrived in the UK in 2001 and are slowly moving north and are active from Early spring
  16. Thank you for sharing as always Silhouettes. Investment time. That statement really takes the piss. Wtf. You buy a record because you like it or love it. Esther Phillips. £650. OMG. Are people stupid. I've just answered my own question. YES. Ste
  17. Brilliant Ed. I started fishing when I was 5 . Never lost my love of it 57 years later. Still one of life's greatest pleasures. Had some amazing times, Had a kingfisher perch on my fishing rod, watched Badgers rolling bedding into their sett . Hope he gets as much fun and enjoyment out of it as I have
  18. Nice one Mal. These old carp , like you say are full of character. If only they could talk, be like catching up with some of the scenes more colourful people and hearing their stories.
  19. So sad. One of the most underrated groups that's given us some great records. Sleep well and Rest in soulful peace.
  20. Yes mate. Long way back in time now .
  21. Thanks for clearing that up mate. Much appreciated. There will be tickets going on general sale 7 days after the weekender ticket holders have taken their option up
