  1. Steve. Half the time at the Casino the tape recorder was put on the stage and covered with a coat , jacket etc me thinks it was for a couple of reasons. (1) to stop the tape getting nicked ( 2 ) the DJs couldnt see it recording there exclusive big tunes. Not that the sound quality was good enough to copy onto a acetate anyway.Well i didnt think so from the tapes i heard. Before i had posted this Pete S gave a answer so i amended mine. Steve
  2. Pete. Sorry to jump on your post but whats a Billy Thompson Demo worth if your asking £150 for a issue ? Best regards Steve

  16. Just jesting Kenny. I always include a unknown DJ in my choice at Winsford. Everyone has to start somewhere. Bit scary for some getting thrown in at the deep end doing a nighter but on the whole they seem to enjoy it and if they get a good response from the punters the look of pride on there faces is worth the questions i get asked ........... Who,s that, How did they get a spot etc, etc, etc. Steve

  21. In my opinion one of the venues that was at the leading edge for new and up front music in the 80,s and 90,s was the Saints Club in St Helens, And unless you frequented the place you would never list it as a leader in its day, much like the Greatstone is today. Andy says landmark venues. Why not create a Hall of Fame for such places. So that the people behind the venues get some recognition.the regulars know who these unsung heros are but the majority dont. I would like to nominate Saints as the first entry. Barry and Flanny take a Bow. Steve
  22. Christmas is a sad time of year for me for numerous reasons but one song absolutely destroys me when i hear it. Cold Wind In The Ghetto. What tune brings a lump to your throat and a tear to your eye ? Steve
