Surely its only worth what the buyer is willing to pay for it and i,m sure you could get one a lot cheaper at a nighter than the price Pat is quoting.
£300 should i sell mine. No
Steve
My first venture to a nighter was in about May 75. Went the Casino on and off for two months then every week from Aug, never missed one then for four years then think i missed maybe a twenty or so till it finally closed. We all used to jump the bus or try and get away with the cheapest fare from Widnes to Warrington. then call in the Patten arms opp Bank Quay Station to see who had wondered in before getting the train up to Wigan. Cant remember what tunes where played the first night i was there or for quite a few nighters after that, dont know why that is One early memory is the timeless Night Owl which many years later i managed to pick up on a red cameo issue.

Steve. How true your words are. I became invovled with promoting Winsford about two and a half years back and having been around on the scene thirty odd years i thought i was up to speed ( so to speak ) I also had my eyes opened, which in hindsight may have stopped me venturing into the promoting side of things but i,m here now, i try to stay away from the politics but sometimes you just get drawn in for better or for worse. Word of warning for anyone thinking of been a promoter Go into it with your eyes wide shut
Steve
Top Man, We arranged for Edwin to come over to Widnes for Jimmy Buffs 40th
( muck fee 13 years ago ) and it was one of the greatest nights this scene has given me in 30 odd years on it and he sung " faith "so its a special tune anyway. thanks for posting Pete
Steve

Steve
Yeah that was us lot mate. I even had a scrap on the train ( Widnes /Warrington shit). I must have been lucky with my punches never got a beating off anyone. I used to wear the pegs n shit like that in the last couple of years because as you rightly say the ridicule that went with the spencers etc, etc.
Steve
Yes Neil. You and Dunc from Penketh, Causing me Grief with the punks coz i had to look after you KIDS The Punks picking on Dunc coz he was the little one. The good old days . Still loved those empty nights though mate as much as i loved the full ones.
Steve
Lucky person me got a Joanie Summers demo for my birthday a few years back. Still love it . Also had a copy of Sue Lynne at the Casino with a national radio libary stamp on it.
Sold it for £17 then got one about ten years back as another birthday pressie
Steve
I go just as many Nighters in the summer as i do in the winter but as i fish a lot more matches in the summer than in winter i get the best of both worlds, nighter followed by a days fishing sat in the sun. but i,m wrecked on a tue in work.
Steve
Yeah, i bought a few pressings , ten to one, what, too many people etc, etc from the balcony record bar. Russ had a stall on wigan market called Russ,s Records or was that the name of the record shop on wallgate. cant remember ?
Steve
Mark, Keep up the good work, the memories, the music, just a honour to have been there , if you want a epitaph for your book. At the very last Nighter somebody wrote in lipstick on the mirror on the second pillar from the stage on the right hand side. Wigan Casino No More Come Downs. Still brings a lump to my throat.
