Cookie. When i first met all the Irish lads about 10 maybe 12 years back when they where all young kids ( still are ) they didnt know oldies as such. They knew and owned a lot of the stuff that was getting played on the scene back then but where gobsmacked at oldies like what you listed. They took it all in there stride, embraced it and loved them for what they are "class soul records" They now have most of the stuff in there own collections. Unless they,ve moved them on for some of there rare stuff. The point to all this is they had and still have a willingness to accept the whole package of northern soul without sticking it in to different rooms. Modern, R&B etc etc. Its all part and parcel of what makes it what it is. If your gonna go out and moan about the music.Think first Dont forget you may have heard a certain record last time you went anywhere but i bet there,s loads saying i aint heard that record for years.
