  1. Rod. I can honestly say that I've only ever bought records because I love them and to play them out. Never bought a record I didn't like just because it was popular. Yes I made a big profit when I sold my collection but that was market dictated, could have made a lot more if I has sold them individually and not as a collection but that was my choice. Within 12 months I was buying the odd record again and still am. And again because I love the record.
  2. Only the two from Leighton Moss this evening Probably my best ever Avocet picture. Adult and a Spoonbill that thinks its a Skimmer
  3. Cheers Mike. As i dont do any serious hill walking these days ( asthma ) , the only thing i can add is as you say limited signal/ coverage for normal phones is a problem , not sure how these smart watches work ? plenty of people have them these days. Serious walkers use GPS systems these days, not cheap but what price a life. where as i along side many people our age never had that luxury and learnt to use a map and compass to get around
  4. Definitely the smell of Brut , the go to deodorant/ aftershave. The slight smell of dampness especially if you where in early , always a warm humid smell when you went back in after been outside for any length of time. smoke droppings from the ceiling was the killer on decent shirts.
  5. Thank you for posting as always my friend. Not a lot to comment about this week.Don't know probably half of them I don't think May change my mind later
  6. Excuse me Kev. But when have you and few words ever been put in the same sentence before . Trust your keeping safe and well mate
  7. Just had my first ever view of a Rose Ringed necked parakeet over my Manchester garden.
  8. That's so true. I know a ex DJ, who shall remain nameless. who had a lot of the big hitters in the 90 s but didn't have the likes of what you mentioned. Sad really. No soul just deep pockets
  9. That's very true Dave about the travelling up hill in a car. Where do these people learn to drive. Its like when your walking on a road with no pavement always walk facing oncoming traffic. Dogs on leads etc Countryside code seems to have been lost somewhere. . Read something recently about some stupid woman complaining that her and her kids where in tears after a farmer shot their dog ( not on a lead ) in front of them that was chasing sheep and lambs saying it was only playing. Are people that fcuking stupid these days.
  10. Great pictures from your lovely part of the country Dave. Little tip mate. Always carry a good torch and if possible a head torch when out on the fells , hills etc plus a whistle. You never know. Learnt that many years ago doing my Duke of Edinburgh when we got lost on the moors above Denbigh in North Wales
  11. Frankie. 2nd pillar from the front right hand side looking towards the stage was OK. I really can't remember how loud it was
  12. Chris . I truly can't remember.. Good chance it was because the speakers where up on the stage which was quite high so the sound would be slightly over your head. Never spent that much time on the balcony to tell if it was louder up there. Do remember that you could always have a chat without too much trouble Ste
  13. Mal. Great picture mate. You can stay on the island as a sort of religious retreat. Not sure for how long or what the conditions are but definitely worth looking into. It's such a special place. There's still people who live on the island apart from the Monks. What a privilege that must be. Can't wait to return in October
  14. Nice one. Wish I could do it . Asthma wouldn't let me . Would probably have to stay over night get there . Lol. Yeah Thomas and his mates do it regularly. They love it but all only in their twenties . They actually rescued a American climber from the Crib a few years ago. A big storm just appeared and they had to climb down the crib because it was far too dangerous to cross and they found a lost and struggling climber who they got down to safety
  15. So that's why Kev was plugging the Great British Sewing Bee on Instagram last week.
  16. Red Kite picture from last week, nearly forgot this, probably more picture when i have a proper look
  17. Stunning mate. Nice little workout for you. Did you do the Crib Goch ?. Picture of my Son Thomas running across it.
  18. Kin el Rod. They will be buying records next.
  19. Thanks Andy. I was at St Govans mate the next headland across the bay from where you turned around. The cliffs are now open for Rock climbing after the nesting season and I wasn't expecting to see any at all because there was at least 20 climbers across different sections where they normally nest but they had moved out to a non climbing section. Two actually flew across and landed within 15 metres of two climbers who as you say are totally oblivious.
  20. Thanks Neil as always mate . They are members of the Crow family but a very specialised feeder of grubs buried in the short grass on cliff tops that's grazed by sheep and cattle and rabbits. That was the main reason why they disappeared from Cornwall among other places, the cattle and sheep had been removed from the cliff tops and the scrub / bracken took over and the Chough couldn't feed.
  21. I was more than lucky today when i managed to see seven of the UK,s rarest birds on the sea cliffs at St Govans Head in Pembrokeshire . The Chough , apart from a few birds in Pembrokeshire and on South Stack on Anglesey was extinct in the rest of the UK until just a few years ago when it was successfully reintroduced to Cornwall and i think on the South coast near Eastbourne . At one stage two fledgling where begging a adult for food , which i caught a quick photo of ,then one adult feeding a young again photo and finally a adult on the very short grass and almost a silhouette except the bright red beak of one flying over I could hardly hold the camera / lens today on the cliff tops it was that windy but as a bonus there wasnt a cloud in the sky all day until this evening when it clouded over, just in time for my return home tomorrow ( Sadly ) but i will be returning in October for two more weeks
  22. Waves 20210617_181835_1.mp4
