Least Memorable/most Disappointing Live Soul Act
Winsford Soul replied to a topic in All About the SOUL
Eddie Holman,s legendary show at Lowton in about 1999 was and still is the best live artist I have ever had the pleasure and privilege to see and I have seen The Dells, Chuck Jackson, Four Tops, Terry Callier, Trammps, Temptations, Supremes, Marvelettes, Jerry Williams, numerous artists at the Prestatyn soul weekenders, Gala Gran weekenders, among others so that's really sad to hear about Eddie Holmam -
Is Playing A Boot At A Venue Ever Acceptable
Winsford Soul replied to Dave West's topic in All About the SOUL
I thought Esperanto was played at Wigan in 77 about the same time as Sue Lynne If memory serves me right. I actually bought my first copy of Sue Lynne at Wigan , it had the BBC record library stamp on the Orange RCA label and was complete with the BBC clear half circular polythene storage bag .it was a monster record at the time and still a tough one now having only got a republic of Ireland release as far as I'm aware -

Is Playing A Boot At A Venue Ever Acceptable

As a predominately nighter goer . Its a unwritten law that it's original only. And that goes back to when I first started this incredible journey in 75. Soul nights I normally attend are shall we say the more discerning type of venue that doesn't play the played out oldies type stuff anyway ( obvious what's played out to some are not to others and geographical boundaries still come into play regarding this comment. ) i much prefer a across the board music type policy right up to new releases so I tend not to hear bootlegs anyway but I wouldn't be to bothered. -
Nice picture Lorraine. X

Know it well. Used to swim in the weaver navigation to cool off after a massive bike ride from Widnes to Delemere forest and back. Great picture

Looking forward to seeing this next Friday night -
Thanks mate. It certainly has a special place in my life. Bit sanitised version of what it was with tarmac roads and occasional street lights and not as many overgrown wild areas. Progress they call it it but I would still jump at the chance to own a caravan there. Only 90 minutes from home.

Mellington Hall caravan Park. While I was at Bishop Castle yesterday laying flowers on my Dad's grave I called into where Mum and Dad used to have a caravan. So many happy times spent there so I just wanted to share a few pictures . The last picture is from the fishing lake and it was only when I walked round the other side I realised that they where actually roots under the crystal clear water from a nearby Willow tree. If you zoom in you can see 100,s of tiny Rudd fry

World heritage site. Pontcysyllte viaduct casting its shadow on the river Dee, tree's and fields far below and a distant view of the less well known Chirk viaduct

Thank you for sharing as always my friend . As Harry said. Airplane song is a proper rare record that hardly ever comes up for sale , I bet there's been a ratio of about 10 / 1 in Hamilton movement favour compared to Norma Jenkins for sale over the last few years. But I'm sure someone will correct me on that I also think it's a great record.

Is it really worth buying from America
Winsford Soul replied to Haighy's topic in All About the SOUL
Rod. What you and I consider the price to be or should be is vastly different from what most sellers think. -

I'm not on about rare stuff . When they would go anyway. -

Totally agree Karl. For example a particular record is available from let's say 10 different sellers on discogs 8 non UK. 2 UK . 100% guarantee the 2 UK sellers will be massively more expensive than the non UK sellers . -
I was sent this last night and it was taken Monday night- early hours Tuesday morning. Just had to share this amazing photo by Laura Maerees of a beach in Pembrokeshire with the bio- luminescence in the waves and planet Jupiter and the stars . I know the beach but out of respect of Laura's wishes I will not say where it is.
