Eurasian Eagle Owl, There are now according to very good reports about 50 breeding pairs in the UK despite the RSPB denying that they have colonised naturally and refuse to accept them on the to the British breeding birds list ( they have accepted White tailed sea eagles and Ospreys who they re introduced ), Yes some have escaped from captivity but others have flown over from mainland Europe especially the Netherlands where they are everywhere. Anyway enough politics from me Steve
  2. Heard the same myself off Stoke regulars. But every venue has a life span no matter how good or many years it lasts. I personally don't attend many of the big oldies type nighters prefer the more intimate rare, obscure type music venues with more than one room so as there is a choice but I've never lost my love of oldies . Steve

  4. Atlantic grey seal pups. Taken last night when I could hardly stand up in the wind that was blowing the camera and the 500mm lens about something silly but it just shows how good image stabilisation is on the lenses these days Steve

  6. At last I've managed a photograph of the Milky Way with some background scenery to emphasise the sky properly. Every single white dot is a Star . Steve
  7. Updates on the passing through of Swallows. Saw 13 on Tuesday over on Caldy Island feeding over the fields. Managed 1 Wednesday, 1 Thursday and Friday none as yet today but its rather windy down here. Getting close to the latest that I've seen them in the UK. Bet there's still plenty by you Dave down in sunny Spain Steve

  10. I've told him thanks Dave. Think its had me, I'm guessing it can be absorbed through the skin . Was going to take the seed heads home as they're very ornamental shrubs, carried three seed heads yesterday evening back to the cottage woke up this morning feeling dizzy, slightly trippy, bit sick and a headache . I've slept most of the day feel normal now (whatever normal is in my world). Definitely a weird one though ,cant think of anything else it could be Steve

  18. I know mate but all I ever see there is a bit of a tail or it's back through the branches. And the ones i saw there where almost black. I should have added I've never photographed them before to my original post . Steve

  21. Down here in Pembrokeshire the night sky with no light pollution is amazing. Don't think I have ever seen as many stars
