Thanks Kev, I found 4 shops to look at but not a sniff of anything really, a handful of easily available, but vastly overpriced items. My expectations are generally low but you have to have a look don't you!

I'm in Washington for a couple of days at the moment, can anybody recommend any good shops to find any 45s?
I'm then going to Kentucky, Indiana, Virginia and Chicago if anyone has any advice?
