No problem Jim, I have mine cut into the soft foam in the lid of my record box but it is about half an inch in depth so it may not fit some boxes in the same way. As its not bolted onto the lid I also move it to other record boxes if I use them out and about too. I just take a few less records and put it in a record mailer then place the mailer in my box. Someone needs to invent one that's fits into 45 centre hole.

Jim, I've had a GPS tracker fitted inside the lid of my main playbox for at least two years now. It comes with a SIM card and a phone number. If I send it a text it sends back its location which you can view on a smartphone Google map. I can also set up a perimeter so if the box goes outside this area then the device sends me a text with its location. It just gives you that added security if you leave your box in a taxi or something like that. I'm also a geek so like a gadget.

"You're leaving me" has the same backing as Pig and is my favourite Rodd Keith track, that I have heard, hence it's usually in my playbox. While "Gloria" and "Like the lord said" are good I prefer the earlier "Don't you tempt me" version. Could be wrong but appears to be just as rare as Lord too. If I get a chance will post a sound clip.

Sorry I've came to this thread a bit late but I'm not convinced about the darker labels. Mine has labels that are as dark and bright silver text as the one shown on auction. In fact it sounds very similar to how Pottsy describes his copy with fairly thick vinyl too. I'd have to see two side by side. The two pimples (I can confirm they are pimples and not dimples) suggests that one of the stampers was flawed. So if you believe that only one stamper was ever made then that would infer that the first records pressed did not have pimples, then subsequent records pressed did. However, if you conclude, as commonly the case, that more than one stamper was made then it is possible that the first records to be pressed may have had pimples. Of course if there were two sets of stampers it's also possible that more than one machine could have been stamping at the same time, one with, one without pimples. As for the thickness of the vinyl again not convinced that all records ran off have exactly the same thickness of vinyl. Can anyone shed light on this aspect? Doing my head in thinking about it. At the end of the day with or without pimples they are both originals. Whether anyone wants to pay a premium for a pimple-less copy is up to them and the prerogative of the seller to promote this as a positive selling point. Personally the pimples don't bother me as they don't effect play and add to the mystique and story of these records. Though can see why someone may want to pay more for less pimples.

Had a blast and thanks to everyone there who made me feel welcome, from promoters, fellow DJs, but especially the dancers. My other Scottish team mates Charlie, Ray & Jack, were fantastic. Spot on Chalky, Marv Johnson it is. Goes to show don't believe "unreleased" written on a record sleeve. So it was released on United Artists. Although this acetate sounds like a slightly different take, difficult to tell, but my ears the backing singers less upfront. Was given this acetate many years back with a few others as part of a swap, mostly sat in a box gathering dust since. Never really looked into it until today when I thought I'd put it up. Anyway thanks for shedding light on this.

I have this Jobete in my collection. Don't really know anything about it. Single sided, uptempo early R&B male vocal. Apparently unreleased?

L.NIX mastering is from Memphis and is on some early 70s Stax records run out matrix.

Interesting thread. The first thing the person who won this off ebay need to do is to compare it to the Realside release. It should be obvious if its different and an original release. Perhaps even get another opinion from a respected person like Manship. IMHO they have taken a gamble but it could be a winner for them or not.

Nice one, a fave of mine, played it out a few times myself some years back. Always worth a spin IMHO.

I'm not sure how much the going rate is for this record, hence my request for Offers, but as a guide I probably wont let it go for under £2K. So lets say offers over £2K considered.
