West country soul man Kev Marshall, has passed away today, he was only 48, His battle with the brain tumour, had led to him being in a coma for severall days. which ended today, he is at peace now. I know that Kev will be missed by all the Soul People in Cornwall, and also Plymouth where he was loved and respected by everyone Our thoughts are with his wife tina, and Kevs 3 young boys, and all his family at this time God rest his Soul

Last night in Newquay was a special night of northern soul, with all proceeds going to Kev Marshall and his family, and the macmillen nurses that are caring for Kev so well. The night started with a buzz with people arriving early and getting straight out on the dance floor. The music was superb but this surpassed by the overwhelming generosity of the crowd, in total £624 was raised on the door takings and raffle, and another £120 for the nurses. Kevs brother and sister both came along with other family members, which was amazing, and especially moving when Kevs Brother took the microphone to say a few words. Tony and myself cannot thank everyone enough, you should all be very proud of what you have achieved, special thanks to steve from the griffin. and the dj's that gave their services for free, and still put money in the kitty !! West country Soulman Kev Marshall is serviously ill, he has a Brain Tumour, things are not good. Kev has spent most of his life travelling up country for the music he loves, from Bodmin Cornwall, he has also promoted soul events in the Newquay area. which all of us down here have loved over the years. To show our support for Kev and his family we are putting on a northern night in Newquay 28th July, if anyone is on holiday in cornwall that week and would like to come along , please do, all are welcome, it will be great to have you soul people turn up,. all the proceeds from this event will be going to Kev and his family . Kevs freind Paul Walker recently passed away,another soulman, at this stage we haven't been able to tell Kev this news, its all a bit much. enquiries@soulfixins.co.uk Jo Davies

sad news , spent many a night soulin with with paul, and our little gang from the west country, My sister viv, and Mark Heaney who is now in Perth,Australia, are also deeply saddened by this news, we travelled the length and breadth of this country with Paul over the years, for the love of the music, i will miss him , Jo
