  1. ....what about Colin 'crazy legs' Magee Now that bloke was like fire on the dancefloor, hundred miles an hour, used to follow 64 beats to the bar, as a rule. Sometimes known as the 'octopus', but no sucker when it came to dancing. From Corby I think?
  2. Great album, I had mine up for sale, but no interest! Amazing isnt it.! Good luck I have one for sale aswell.

  5. .....then there was Sammy 'Slug' Smith from somerset now he was a real dancer. Used to stick to floor all night long, never sat down. Not even for 1 tune! Salt of the earth! Id rake him as one of the best! From what I remember he used to take pellets to keep him 'fizzing' all night and he had a sort of natural 'antennae' for a good earthy tune. Haven't seen him for a while?

    Great picture....
  7. ..I prefer Dj's that play 'soul' music that moves your feet. Not boxed in by prejudice or non-definable genres such as 'Northern Soul' (which is an attitude rather than a style!). Dj's that support venues as a punter, not ones who only go out if they are djing! And who arrive at the beginning of the night and stay until the end. Dj's who dont do it for the money. Dj's who listen to music...sounds a starnge thing to say, but I feel MANY dont! Dj's who look through sales boxes and dont get spoon fed what they should play by big dealers. Dj's who dont care how cheap a tune is and dont say things like "its a big boy tune". Dj's who play the music so that it flows seamlessly from one tune to another and provides a 'spot', not a bunch of dis-jointed records with a load of mundane chat and boasts inbetween! " its this rare" and "that expensive". A bit of talk is ok, but i go to dance, not for a sermon! You cant understand a word they say on most of the s--t sound systems at soul events anyway! If the tunes are good they dont need geeing up! Dj's whos personality shines through their set, not their chat! Music, music, music! Dj's who have a play box, full of tunes that 'they' love, not full of stuff they are bored with, but think other people might like! I want a glimpse of 'their' soul. Not the top 500's.
  8. Bill 'Bambi' Bowen from Bognor (i think?) Used to spin and come out with a Stag leap into splits! Never used to graze himself. Amazing stuff. Forest supporter. Friend of Tony Buck, I think. Real larger than life character. Not really sure what neck of the woods he was from?
  9. ...your forgetting Flipsy Whipsy from Farnham, had a lovely cornetto spin and smooth creamy interpretation of the music. Hundreds and thousands used to come to see him dance wherever he was. Ice cool character through and through! 99 percent sure he was seen melting into the background at Prestatyn.
  10. Lets not forget Flashy Fred from Farnham Tricksy Wicksy from Warrington and Boxy Splitsy from Bolton
  11. As for dancing from the heart... they don't come much more heartfelt than our very own Captain... Chris Morgan. Oh... and John Weston... watching this guy dance ALWAYS lifts my heart... I reckon the NHS should prescribe a dose of 'John Weston watching' instead of the time honoured Prozac Guys like Chris and John may not be 'technically' brilliant dancers... but what they give from their heart more than makes up for it... and that's what's important in my book! GREAT STUFF Have to agree Joan, I dont know what technially good is. I just like to see people like the Captain and George in the USA, dancing for themselves, not other people. Gail would have to be in there aswell....she is the business! Acrobatics? Its a bit out of place nowadays I think, alot of these guys go down and i cant tell if they have fallen over or if its a 'new move' Rather see a 'soul' with their feet shuffling for themselves with a smile on their face. The sort of people that you get a buzz off dancing next to...they create a positive energy.
  12. No, thats the other one. I had it a while ago and traded it in OZ with Frnakie Driscoll. Both sides of that are good. Its harder to find though. cheers PAUL

  14. As I said earlier mate, im totally for it. So its not me whos slagging it. What you heard and fact are obviously different. Thats the trouble with hearsay. Danielle is a great dancer and did the business i think. As you say and agree, she was recommended...by me! Early doors. I would of thought early doors is not needing to ask anyone, because you know plenty of good dancers, have their numbers, call them and thats it?! correct me if im wrong.?
  15. As an addition, when the video guys got in touch with me pre - 'Duffy' casting, I suggested they should use Jazz dancers for footwork. The director and producer said thay had never heard of the Jazz dancers or Jazz scene.!! Low and behold they are now talking about using Jazz dancers for her next release! mmmm wonder where that idea came from? So you see, when things are provided free of charge and no credit is given or the source ir denied, it can be a p-ss off! All im saying is I provided Danielle. Full Stop!
  16. Correct me if im wrong Paul, didnt you actually get paid for your part in this and your girlfriend?! I dont mind sorting stuff, but when you get attitudes like this, it sort of pi--es me off. It was Liam who asked for the third girl. He obviously didnt have one or he wouldnt have needed Danielle?
  17. Im sayin "hush dont cry" Pete!
  18. Yes, I put that on purpose cos I dont know what Northern soul is? But now you have defined it with Bonnie Herman, Im clear. Cheers. Obviously equals Cack!
  19. Just spoke to John and he said that he told you that he got Danielle via me Liam. Given that she was the lead in my play, im suprised it didnt come up? Dont mind mate, but credit where its due and all that.
