  1. Its so messed up...im in shock, where do these people come from? Its shameful and a great 'Little Britain' sketch!
  2. https://www.northerns...ge_1606195.html Is the for real? Please, please say its a hoax? REMEMBER...... keep repeating the move before speeding it up - keep pausing the DVD until you are confident with the move before moving on. This is particularly relevant to the intermediate DVD's which are quite complicated.
  3. My friend, you have to accept that the 'Northern Soul' scene is Dogmatic and bigotted. The term 'Nothern Soul' has been hijacked by a load of old moaners who have forgotten that they used to hear 'New' tunes every single week. They had to batter the term into a meaning that fits their love of hearing the top 500 over and over and over again. Its a fear and safety thing. ONE DAY is a superb track and you should just feel pity fot the ones making negative comments. Fear is a negative emotion and thats what drives them.. Bless.
  4. Milton should be easy, although there seems a sudden interest at moment. Shadow the b side is a nice mid t thing too.
  5. Unexpected? No. ALWAYS play the b side. Theres hundreds of great ones. Check the bsides of Walter & the admirations, Timi Yuro, Towanda Barnes and the rest!
  6. £300 is about right Pete. As I said People go crazy once Butch starts playing it and thats whats happened with Magicians. Its an old Stafford tune and been about a long time. Joans been playing it in her set for years , as have others. Then Butch plays it, they all look for it at once, demand goes up and prices get ridiculous!
  7. ANTONIO CASTRO....so rare and doesn't get more soulful. Snap it up!
  8. Fuck! just sold mine last year for £140 to Mr Maleady!ha! Shows how prices change once Butch starts playing tunes! Crazy!

  18. boxes, boxes, boxes...people always seem to be trying to squeeze tunes into genres and seperate rooms. To me some Northern is pop, some funk is FONK and some r&b is rock n roll. But at the end of the day, i want variety at a night. I dont want 8 hours of just one genre. Live and let live. I definitely prefer djs that can mix it up a bit and aren't themselves stuck in the same (one genre) groove, then i get to hear an interesting spot. I agree with the put it all in one room attitude and then, as Lonnie Liston Smith said, you can 'Expand your mind'.
  19. Are you refering to people who ask more than book? I don't see too many examples of that. The books out on loads of stuff and is missing even more. I guess a seller should ask what 'he/she' thinks its worth. Its then up to the buyer to say yes or no. If its too high, it wont sell. Its a seller & buyers choice i guess.
  20. THe NEIL character is VERY overacted, hence my 'Carry ON Up THe Casino' analogy. I guess for each, that period was different. I was one of the ordinary kids and for me it wasn't as cliched or crass as 'Souled Out' presents. Its almost as if they have tried to make a 'feel good' formulaic Brit flick that will go BIG like ' Full Monty'. But when people try too hard, its always a disaster. It has to be made from the heart and soul and with passion and knowledge and im afraid this film lacks all of those qualities.
  21. not sure about the syrups some of the cast are wearing tho also not so sure about the frank out of 'shameless' meets neil out of the 'young ones' character SPOT on, as i said CLICHE. And definitely very embarrassing...
  22. I knew a lot of people on here WOULD like it. Thats why these crap films keep getting made....no one really cares. And for some, i think they experienced Wigan purely on a tourist basis...just like the film....so it is probably an accurate portrayal of their superficial involvement in Northern Soul at the time...which is fine. But to me, its a very 'Carry On' approach. Enjoy.
  23. My god! Just seen the trailer for the film 'SOULED OUT' and unfortunately, it is f--king horrendous....bad dancing, bad dialogue, line dancing northern, cliche rubbish, incorporating badly edited wigan dance footage. Bit like 'CARRY ON AT THE CASINO'.....what a pile of s--te.....as predicted...embarrassing! When will non-scene people stop making crap films about it and when will people of the scene stop helping the twats! Of course Binstanley was proud to be adviser...cant wait for the 'Hollyoaks' attempt...hes also adviser on that!
  24. where from Pete...whats it normally used for? thanks
