  2. Just dug these out of my garage from way back when I was creating the play and going through thousands of tunes Some have covers, some don't, they all play, some are rare and deleted now and I will even throw in a script from the play! Full list is attached. £80 + pp Thanks Paul NORTHERN SOUL CD’s.pdf
  3. I has a Barrett Bros but sold it early last year. Nev has/had one.
  4. I have just keyed into this thread and really cannot believe that anyone is defending this deception. I really don't care if the guy or guys involved were former custodians of the mantle or contributed golden nuggets of soul, these actions negate and cancel all that. It really seem to be a a case of the Emperors new clothes to attempt to dress it any other way. If I had been a victim of this scam i would be very tempted to shove the bootleg in his chops make him eat it and get a refund with my very own hands from his soul-less grasping mitts.

  7. SOLD Totally unique and haunting track covered up for over a decade (as Bobbie Smith - Girl) since Karl Rhodes discovered this tune. The Shades - Hit It vg+ (maybe better) small chip on play hole that does not affect play. Recently outed but makes absolutely no difference as it is one of the hardest tunes to find with only three other copies that I know of in the hands of DJ's and two of those came from me. I have been talking the owner out of his remaining three copies (for a few years now) and here is the last! I will be taking offers but please do some research and make a realistic one if you are interested. Happy 2016 Best Paul Please use paulsadot@hotmail.com as I check it more regularly Shades - Hit It.mp3
  8. I have a copy for sale.
  9. Sold two last year £1800 each.
  10. Vg+ (surface marks but plays vg++) £80 This is a storming tune thats becoming harder to track down. email: paulsadot@hotmail.com
  11. Very cheeky and he's not pleased about it.
  12. https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=214&v=YDnCJuZxKOk Elaine mentioned while ago that people had been copying scenes from Northern Soul.. But I never thought it would be this obvious! Lazy video producers and media types looking for a vehicle for their sadly lacking imaginations I guess..
  13. Its such a great thing that Northern Soul is now able to sit firmly amongst the 'Broga' (an appropriation of yoga with no research behind it), Line Dancing and the over 50 Jammers. Even better its in what many believe to be the Heart of Soul, Wigan. The memories just live on and on and on: https://www.theoldcourts.com/#!classes/c1szr
  14. I now mate, i was just joining in
  15. Hey, I was only posting to celebrate this eternal soulful look and yes it is f*cking hilarious and a source of much pleasure to many of us.
  16. https://www.theguardian.com/fashion/2015/jun/12/mens-fashion-topman-northern-soul-new-york-punk?CMP=share_btn_fb I knew the nostalgia scene (or pseudo-subculture as its being called) would hit the high street. Off the peg, wear the soul in your pants!
  17. Thanks Mike, thats a great facility, with maps, pictures and everything!
  18. Some of you will know Oscar Romp from the scene, particularly 80s-90s. He used to be in a dark corner with a light on his head drawing the dancers. Warrington, Sheffield, Bradford, Rotherham, Manchester and many other places. He managed to capture the dark and the light of those times in an often visceral way. As a dancer himself he has always created his pictures from that engaged perspective, from the inside. As well as the Northern Soul scene Oscar has been an active part of the UK Jazz Dance scene and this exhibition includes images from that as well. The venue is near Cambridge in a gallery that is a part of The Plough in Shepreth, which is a great place to have a drink, eat and listen to some vinyl (the only pub that is vinyl only that I have come across) Oscar asked me to invite you all to the preview and the poster is attached. Hope to see some of you there!
  19. Bit weak for me (vocal) and the lyrics are not up to much..
  20. I had two copies and was one of the first to out it when I djed at Soul Function in March 2014. Both gone now. Obviously should have held on to one. I let them go at £250 and £350.
  21. Ok the history on this tune. I bought it for £300 way back around 2004 ish, from a guy called Steve Smith (i may be wrong) played it on the same night I bought it and it packed the floor. I was the only DJ playing this tune anywhere, including as resident at Middleton, Piercebridge, guest at Lifeline and other venues. Then another copy was found by Mik Parry and he was playing it with me and helped break it as a consequence. I sold my copy to Flanny.
