Some of you will know Oscar Romp from the scene, particularly 80s-90s. He used to be in a dark corner with a light on his head drawing the dancers. Warrington, Sheffield, Bradford, Rotherham, Manchester and many other places. He managed to capture the dark and the light of those times in an often visceral way. As a dancer himself he has always created his pictures from that engaged perspective, from the inside. As well as the Northern Soul scene Oscar has been an active part of the UK Jazz Dance scene and this exhibition includes images from that as well. The venue is near Cambridge in a gallery that is a part of The Plough in Shepreth, which is a great place to have a drink, eat and listen to some vinyl (the only pub that is vinyl only that I have come across) Oscar asked me to invite you all to the preview and the poster is attached. Hope to see some of you there!
