  1. I think it's the font of SOUL, haven't seen it before on a 60s record, Probably me being too suspicious, don't trust anything unless it's Nashville Matrixed and even then............
  2. Is it just me, or does this not look right?
  3. Yes, these were around in the late 70's. Never had one but can remmember them being listed occasionally
  4. Agreed, I'll be spending some time listening to this. Good work.
  5. Did you really mean to say this Stevie? Only kidding and taken completely out of context, but I couldn't resist. At least I'm reading all the posts, great thread.
  6. I might be wrong but the Frankie Kark has one bar extra on the intro. I read somewhere that the Frankie Karl was re-mixed and re-named for release on Congress
  7. Carlisle had The Cosmo around 1978
  8. Same backing as Dave Hall - Look At Me and I agree, great record
  9. If I knew playlists from a venue were going to be posted, It would save trips up to the decks to ask! I look through playlists and if I like the records I know then chances are I'll like the ones I don't know from the same DJ and will try to hear them, and I might buy one. I don't see the problem! I don't understand the 'somebody else might play them' mentality, surely thats a good thing??? Have a nice Xmas everyone
  10. Great article, The complete history of the Northern scene on 2 pages, and looking back I agree with all of it.
  11. You're not saying Mike Umholtz is dodgy are you? I've had loads of stuff from him no problem, In fact I'd say he was one of the best I've dealt with.
  12. Hi Ian, I think I'm sorted with a copy from Japan, If it falls through I'll give you a ring.
  13. I'm still desperate for one of these, if anyone has one
  14. I think Pat must have had quite a few copies as I bought mine from his list around this time for £8, he was probably trying to create a demand before he sold them. Shocking practice which of course no-one else would do!!! Anyone want to buy a Syng McGown or a Johnny Howard????????
  15. Works the other way too, A few years ago I was guesting at a local oldies night and played Rita & Tiaras as my last record, the guy coming on after me was most miffed as he had already cued it up on his 'Best of Wigan' CD.!!!! I don't think he even recognised that there was a difference???

    Help

No It's not stamped, just sc1011 scratched in run out on As long as you love me and sc1010 and an 'R' on the Step into my heart side
  17. Could be Marvelous Ray - Whirpool Was covered by Gary Rushbrooke early eighties
  18. Just seen this thanks to Youtube. To be honest I didn't think it was too bad, I was expecting it to be a right piss-take after reading some of the comments on here. If POG really did go to the casino, and I've no reason to believe he didn't, he could have done some real damage by mentioning some of the additives that went with the cups of tea. He didn't, but must have been well aware of them. All he spoke about was the music, the friendship and the fashion of the time, even his dancing wasn't as bad as some I've seen. All in all I think the scene got off lightly, It could have been much worse. Now when's that film coming out?..........................
  19. I would have thought the issues are much harder, everyone I know with a copy has a demo. Personally I would start selling body parts before I sold this, it's pure quality.
  20. I got this from Rob Marriott at one Alan Coneys Bishop Auckland nights, I paid quite a lot of money for it at the time, £280 I think. I know he was surprised when I ran round to the cash machine and drew out the money for it. I've only seen mine and one stock copy so couldn't really say which is rarer.
  21. Nov 23 1966, I guess this will be the date it was received at the radio station.
  22. Here's the 'a' side
  23. Here's a scan of George Jay, I know 'soulin' has a quite few of the others.
