  1. I had to Youtube Bob Sinclair as I don't frequent anywhere where anything this bad would be played. Words fail me.................
  2. I haven't bought anything on US ebay for over a year now, it was my main source of records. I don't even look anymore. I would guess that a lot of collectors have done the same.
  3. Dean Anderson, Pete Smith and Chalky's podcasts. Don't like mixcloud though, as I haven't figured out how to download them so I can listen in the car.
  4. https://www.asos.com/Clarks-Originals/Clarks-Originals-Oberon-Leather-Lace-Up-Shoes/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=905742&r=2 I preferred 'nature treks' Polyveldts were for girls, although I bought a pair about 5 years ago and they are the best city walking shoes I've ever had. They must have clocked up several hundred miles of walking and are still going strong. I should have bought a few pairs when I had the chance.
  5. I actually have Betty Boo but I bought it when it came out, and it's in a box I keep for 'oddities'. I wouldn't buy it now as I only collect US originals, not really a hangup, I can play the unissued stuff any time I want as most of them are on CD or Youtube. A lot of the comments so far are from people who want them to DJ with. It seems that everyone is a DJ nowadays. I think the records Ady has discovered and released are fantastic. The RCA/Pied Piper stuff in particular. I buy many of the Kent Cds just not the vinyl.
  6. I love hearing new 60's northern, unissued or otherwise, as long as it's not R&B or Funk. The problem is that I only collect US originals. If it's a UK issue then to me it's just another record I'll never have. Nice to hear but I probably wouldn't buy one.
  7. As a buyer for years I never really bothered with UK ebay as there was never any chance of a bargain and everything was 'book' price. If I'm paying full price then I'd rather see the condition first. The last time I looked there were endless pages of carvers and boots so I don't look now. Ebay US was the place I bought most of my records for the past 15 years but I gave up when the postage went nuts and I started paying customs duty on everything. It's not the tax I object to, it's the handling fee and stupid postage which when added together ended up making most of the records I wanted overpriced.
  8. I had switched to Wigan Tiffanies all-nighters before the casino closed. I think they were run by Richard Searling and Gary Rushbrooke. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong. Then like many I went to Clifton Hall etc. The Casino was a great venue but overall the music got much better as soon as it closed. I used to hate Keith Minshull's spots at the Casino but in Morecambe he was playing some of the best records I'd ever heard. I couldn't believe it was the same DJ.
  9. Thanks Chalky. These have been brilliant. It's great to have a reminder of how diverse the music at Stafford was. it's much appreciated.
  10. If that's the soundtrack then things are looking good.
  11. Sorry to go against the general consensus but I think both the Trent Sisters and Little John are great northern records, and would like both of them even if they weren't rare. But then again I also like Joseph Webster so obviously have no taste in music at all......................
  12. Another W/D here. Bought it from Pat Brady's list many years ago
  13. So did I, I was recording tapes quite regularly from 78 to 80 and apart from Richard Searling who was outstanding more or less throughout and Gary Rushbrooke (towards the end) I don't think RW was playing anything worse than anyone else. Think Love Hustle and Tim Tam. But as soon as Wigan Tiffanies started I went there instead......
  14. Lonliest Christmas tree - Lisa Miller https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1k5NvKyKPp4
  15. I thought it was very good, and no naff records played.
  16. Saw it last month, we were lucky to get tickets as it is sold out months in advance. We got the tickets from the 'little' sports ticket outlet in Times Square $150 each. Not the TKTS one I really enjoyed it. Didn't realise that the reason for there being so many Motown labels was that radio stations would only plug one record at a time from each label. The audience was 50% black over the age of 60 so I would love to have known who they were (and whether they had any records at home) I haven't seen Jersey Boys yet so can't compare the two
  17. My favourite £5 record at the moment is: Magictones - Happy Days - Westbound https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M8ZZt0Tb8O0
  18. Don't know how to add Youtube clips, but the other side of Jimmy Mack-My World Is On Fire Go on is great, the same backing as Dave Hall-Look At Me-Sound
  19. Never mind 'Two Step' I'm still trying to figure out what a 'Tittyshaker' is.....
  20. Thanks Chalky Pure class....... Kellet strikes again!!!!!!
  21. Guy was always very imaginative with his cover up names, Albanians.........where did that come from?
  22. Easy one.... Thelma Laverne on Northern Del La Both sides are incredible.. Unfortunately, I know I'll never own one
  23. Don't know about the CD, but the record is **kin fast........
