  1. Pete-don`t be like that,we knew `em anyway !
  2. Don`t want to piss on your chips-but if you put your cursor on the symbol, you get an answer.
  3. Proper terrier you are-never let go! Not meant as a derogatory remark-had to laugh when I read it,because I knew exactly why you posted!
  4. Lara`s Theme(Dr.Zhivago)-film released in 1965,so that seems late to bring that one out?
  5. Maybe not at the prices asked for. Dave Thorley`s post sums it up,perfectly.
  6. Don`t think that there was an inference that it was you,I read it as a general comment.
  7. Been on Pat Bradys list reasonably regularly-maybe the same copy over and over again-I could understand why it wouldn`t sell! Pretty sure it`s been on the auction quite often. Maybe not too often-just whenever I take a look? I thought of starting a topic-"Dealers who often have the same records numerous times"
  8. The Philly Dog. Lots to go yet-according to Wilson pickett(Land of 1,000 Dances)
  9. Okay-so we get it,it`s not everyones "cup of tea". But that`s the same for every song ever played. The fact that it does get played validates it-surely!(Whether some like it,or not!)
  10. JM-gets a better price/takes a bigger slice?
  11. LMFAO-"there was a place in Stafford" Oh yeah-nearly forgot about that!
  12. One of the issues,is that when the media get involved, they invariably start re-writing history. For example:- In last Saturday`s Guardian there was a review of Liverpool/Brighton/Birmingham and Stoke. In the "culture" section the writer told us that "Northern Soul" originated from Stoke(Torch). We all know that`s not the case-but what about those that don`t have our knowledge? Definitely a double-edged sword, for me.
  13. Another good day at the office! And Mickie Champion is over £300.00 already! Kerchingggg!
  14. Certainly more difficult than Saxie Russell/Alma Cogan!
  15. You say that you are restricted to boots and £10ish originals. In that case be prepared to pay more for the boots than originals!
  16. I would have to say exactly the opposite-it is when non-soulies attend and they are not aware of the "dance floor etiquette"(see Len`s post above.
  17. As usual-it`s subjective.I don`t like Pyramid,so I don`t value it at all.If I found one it would be on sale immediately(especially now!) Just like the Eddie Parker scenario-the more it`s talked up,the more money the parties involved end up with.Apart from the buyer! JM is charged with obtaining the best price for his wares.People get swept up in the eulogies that he creates and the price only ever goes one way! It`s always an entertaining read.
  18. A lottery winner?No smileys!
  19. Of course you can enjoy, without dancing Of course you can dance when you feel like it As I said ,I was just wondering and I like dancing to s varied selection. An innocent query-no underlying motives.
  20. "I just know I had an Eddie Parker in there!"
  21. I`ve always love dancing, but I`m just wondering the reason why, maybe some people don`t/have never danced. 1) The sounds have never excited or motivated you? 2) You`d be embarrassed? 3) You maybe never wanted to? 4) Spend all the time in the record bar/licensed bar? 5) Don`t go anywhere? As we all know dancing "on the scene" encompasses all "styles",so for anyone to say that they actually can`t dance is not an acceptable answer! A topic I just thought about.Has it been discussed before?
  22. I always thought it was:- Location,location,location!
  23. I say Colin because I am linking this with Sunday nights at Tiffs in Newcastle-u-Lyme.Colin/Sam/Pep.
