  1. Excellent point-probably more relevant now with prices what they are and rarity being paramount!
  2. Cover-ups, an essential, legendary, mysterious, exciting, frustrating, inspiring part of the "Northern" scene. The point about some being already known to some people is fair comment-but you will always have had people claiming this and maybe moreso nowadays, when the older sounds could be 50+ years old! Here`s a dilemma-if someone is playing a track "covered up" and somebody else knows the identity of the track-should that person(DJ or not) make the knowledge public?
  3. Go for one week,then.
  4. One in sales @ £395.00. Huge difference in valuations,as usual. Although it`s not been sold, yet!
  5. "you left me". "love slave". "we can make it". "man oh man". "don`t play the role". "you only live twice" .......dozens more, and remember Searling running to the decks when the vocals kicked in to "The Chesterfields",first time out! Certainly great times.
  6. Wonder if there would have been a bug in the system if the bidding had already reached figures quoted on here? Still quite a way below what has been guesstimated!
  7. Its showing at £10000.00 on the site! That must be a typo-surely?
  8. George Clinton-surely?
  9. Definitely played at the Casino at a similar time.Got it on an old tape.Didn`t know what it was called at that time.Mad,mad.mad. Definitely northern, rather than soulful.
  10. These all doubles?
  11. Must be talking about the "I`m your man" mispress!
  12. Sam is definitely the exception that proves the rule!
  13. Bloody hell,Len-have you swallowed a dictionary,or just got too much time on your hands LOL You`re right lots of us don`t want it to be how it was.I was making the point with regards to hotel bookings, the validity of which only exists because of the ageing population who do go to niters.Something that has never crossed my mind. It would be interesting to find out how many of the attendees are still at any of the "big" oldies orientated all nighters,at 0500hrs.
  14. These are all valid points about the hotels etc. But think back, when you went anywhere-how old was the oldest niter goer? Weren`t many 50/60 year olds! So in that respect when you get the "just like the Casino" on the advert-it ain`t.
  15. They would be G.Davis and R.Tylers brothers,eh? The "Double Bluff" cover-up!
  16. Most obvious?Maybe:- Moments-Hog Construction-Sync 6.
  17. Nobody has said how much they would want to pay!
  18. Well-he did a stint in Coronation Street-maybe Craig has given him a few tips!
  19. Ha Ha-made me think of Mark Radcliffe and "The Boy Lard" from R1. A Fat Harry White style incarnation,if ever there was one.
  20. Frank Wilson? Cecil Washington?
  21. I think if you look back at some event playlists you can find that the same dj`s will play the same few tunes,in a set, every time they are on at the same venue. This may be because they are not out all weekend, every weekend djing and deem it ok to do what they are doing. I`m not saying they are duplicating fellow dj tunes-it`s that they play certain of their own tunes every time they are on. And it isn`t as if these venues are weekly-so perhaps it`s irrelevant-but for me,it doesn`t make good reading. Can`t speak for anyone else.
  22. Remember that time, back in the 70`s,when the crowd would applaud a record,an approval-if you like. Maybe now is the time to show disapproval-slow handclap for repeats-or walk off the floor? Not necessary to hear the same tune more than once in one nite®,unless a dj is breaking it. First place I can remember not hearing a tune duplicated was 100 Club(80`s).
