Love the drum break in the middle of this one, The Bamboos - Tighten Up (Kay-Dee) Took the roof off at Cleethorpes a couple of years ago when Keith Money played it on the Sun night https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l8oxZSgC-E4

Pat & The Blenders - Just Because / Instrumental (Fast Eddie) issue Looking for offers over £150 If I've done it correctly auction timed to finish this Thur 28th Nov at 10pm VG+ condition Quite a few light marks under a strong light but not affecting play NB. two small hairline cracks running from the middle (the hole) about 1cm inwards, and about 2cm apart. Not even noticeable unless you look closely, and nowhere near the playing surface so not affecting play at all. Great playing copy. Happy to provide full refund within 7 days if not 100% happy. Cheers, Chris.

Bradford Queens Hall Footage - Help Wanted
Chris Turnbull replied to Chris Turnbull's topic in All About the SOUL
Great info, thanks - is that where the BBC Wigan footage comes from too? NB. can't understand why you never hear about the other Wigan footage - anyone know anything about it / have access to it? Can't even think where I have seen it but definitely have - darker, shot from the floor, less busy Maybe was just a short clip on something, but wonder if there were outtakes like with the Granada film -

Interesting Pete - to me the haircuts, etc, look bona fide 1970's -

Thanks Mike, NB. I started it as a different thread as I thought with so many people having already looked at the first one they wouldn't look again -

Following on from the threads about film footage, anyone know where the footage of dancers on this clip comes from, and is there any more of it? Maybe on Pete S's DVD's somewhere https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tFx9XD-RRF4 Also while I'm asking, wasn't there some BBC footage of Wigan c. 1978? Have definitely seen it at some point, quite dark colour film of dancers on the floor at Wigan, though nothing like as busy as on the Granada clips. -

Thanks Pete, Funny I know Marion Stewart really well now but didn't realise it was that on the film Have you still got a copy? Would like it on a DVD -
I used to have a great video of old TV clips (Wigan, Blackburn, Stafford, etc) with some home video footage on the end of Bradford Queens Hall, Ady's Yarmouth Weekender, Allanton, etc, from late 80's / early 90's. Bit of a long shot this, but the Bradford footage had a fantastic female beat ballad that I never knew the name of. Anyone still got the video and can tell me what it is? Somewhere in between George Pepp and Frank Beverly 'Because of my heart' from what I remember, though a few years since I have seen it. The other clips were great too - Ted Taylor 'somebody's always trying' at a kicking Allanton, Hoagy Lands 'next in line' at Yarmouth, etc - surprised no-one has stuck them on Youtube already. Cheers, Chris.

John Bowie - Youre Gonna Miss A Good Thing ( Merben)
Chris Turnbull replied to Dave Pinch's topic in Record Wants
Hi Dave, Noticed Steve Jeffries has one for sale currently https://www.rarenorthernsoul.com/Search/john+bowie/ Cheers, Chris. -
Funny, having been too young to have gone to Wigan it is hard trying to piece it together in your mind - what was the little room behind the stage? Have never heard of that before. Great thread BTW - Nathan Jones a forgotten gem!

No problem, glad we sorted it out!

Blimey, can't believe all this discussion - it was me with the Pageants record - admittedly it was cheeky asking for a refund after 6 weeks but I have just been busy with other stuff. It was completely genuine based on Pete's original offer to refund if I wasn't happy, because it doesn't play well on my turntable at all. However clearly it plays fine on Pete's as per his podcast, so looks more like a problem with my system than his record. I absolutely wasn't trying to scam anyone, it is a great record that I've been after for ages but it just doesn't play cleanly on my system. Have told Pete I'll just keep it and apologies for the inconvenience. Podcast above is a great playlist BTW, Samantha Jones straight to top of my wants list (though won't be asking Pete to sell me one!!)
