  12. Just following on from this thread, my daughter Lola started at Manchester Uni this time and going out tonight to Manchester Blues Kitchen on Quay St Read up just out of interest and Blues Kitchen is what used to be the Post Office Club, where our do was 30 years ago this year. Circle of life etc - makes you feel old
  13. Wow 70% amazing, very surprised so high - need to get out more
  14. Interesting to compare 'I lost you' with say Steve Mancha's 'He stole a love' - does sound like the same singer to me, albeit in a slightly lower register on 'I lost you' and a bit more restrained. Maybe the same studio & band as well?
  15. Thanks for looking - UK post £8 special delivery, overseas tbc. Paypal F&F or bank transfer. Please PM if interested Ujima - I'm not ready (Epic) £600 ON HOLD Excellent condition, maybe M-, a few very light marks but plays perfectly and sounds fantastic. Only bought recently on here for same price but need the funds for something else:-
  16. Thanks for looking - please PM if interested. UK post special delivery £8, overseas to be confirmed. No hassle money back if not 100% happy. Eddie Foster - I Never Knew (In) VG £495 SOLD Not in the best nick, lots of light surface marks and a bit of light crackle, but plays really well throughout - sounds great at home as well as out. I am very picky when it comes to record grading, so buy with confidence (I bought it from Tim Brown Dec 1990, and only selling to balance the books on some other purchases) Iconic rare 45 of course, original issue with correct title and In-6110 marking in deadwax - see photos Priced according to grade, and also current asking prices for stronger graded copies, but happy to consider sensible offers if you think I'm miles out
  17. Hi mate, PM’d you yesterday Thanks, Chris
  18. Reminded me of a trip to the 100 Club around the summer of '96 with my brother in law - admittedly a non-believer but who likened the sound quality to listening to someone operating an industrial hoover for 8 hours
  19. Great and interesting playlist thanks Chalky Slightly off topic but were all those that say unissued actually real names and unissued? Also was Tempos 'Come back baby' c/up Stoppers on Jubilee?
  20. Yes fantastic documentary, watched some of it last Fri - Aretha, Nina Simone, etc - absolutely awesome and some of the best live clips I’ve seen
  21. Not meant to be a plug for the event - just wanted to mark the end of an era, share a few memories and say a huge thanks to Ady for some of the best times Last one of course this weekend - been to every one apart from the 25th when I was laid up with a bad back, but other than that 100% record since 1993 or whatever it was, so seriously going to miss it Superb venue of course, and some fantastic live acts - some that stick out are Betty Lavette, Willie Tee, Al Wilson, Bobby Hutton, Darrow Fletcher, Mary Love, Maxine Brown of course, but so many others Peak years probably 1996 or so to maybe 2005/6? Seemed to tail off gradually after that with increased competition from elsewhere - Blackpool seemed to take a lot away, and the euro crowd seemed to disappear as well Loved the old modern room as it originally was upstairs with Richard Searling, Adam, Terry Jones, etc and of course 100 Club on Sea downstairs with Ady, Butch, Mick Smith, Shifty, Keith Money, etc All the big record dealers as well back in the day - many happy hours hunting in the record room Tunes in the caravan, Leaking Boot for fish & chips - all a bit jumpers for goalposts maybe but I was 23 when I started going and now 53 with two grown up kids, so kind of grown up there really Anyone else going to miss it?
