and then there's "The Funky Screw" by Lee Fields on Angle 3.
-
I believe the Speed 45 is by Dave Cortez and The Moon People.
Same tune, though.
-
I believe I have one as well. Let me know and I will have a look about.
-
I believe there is a 45 on the soul jazz label Prestige with the same name....artist may be Freddie McCoy?? Complete guess......
-
There are a number of funk dance 45s as well......
The Humpty Dump (The Vibrettes)
Hip Drop (The Explosions)
The Charge (Bronc-Glows)
The Funky Shing-a-ling (Milton Howard)
There are a number more, of course, but I'm too lazy to look through my records...
-
Isn't there a Charles Colbert 45 announcing a dance called 'The Oof'.....not quite sure how that would go.

same tune as the Lee Morgan track.
I have not heard the LP, but I quite like the 45.
-
I'd love a copy of that CD... anyone willing to send it to me?
me, too. a copy would be greatly appreciated.
-
pretty sure I have this on an Atlantic 45 at home.
Also, I thought they did a whole LP - maybe 2 - together.
-
Anyone have a value for the "Stay In School - Don't Be A Drop Out" promo-only LP on Stax-Volt?
Popsike prices are all over the place. Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Funky Virginia is OK - it's got some pretty awful lyrics!
"Have you ever been to hip Virginia where the people are gay?"
There's another Sir Guy on DPG (DPG 102) "Let Home Cross Your Mind Pt1" & "I Need You Baby" - which is, in my opinion, better.
Don't know what either is worth.
I agree. 'Let Home Cross Your Mind' is fantastic, although the pressing has alot to be desired.
I believe it's about $250 for a copy these days.
-
very nice tune.

I live in PA, and the US post office quotes 4 to 7 days to the UK for standard airmail.
My experience is that perhaps 75% of the packages I've shipped have met the 7 day time frame, with the balance generally taking longer (2-3 weeks.).

Moaning, Groaning, And Crying - fuller brothers - soul clock

I've never shipped a 45 to the UK or Eurpoe that has cost more than $6.00.
They are either using an on-line USPS calculator incorrectly, or they are trying to make some money on the shipping.

Brenda Lee Eager - When I'm with you - Mercury
(this will suit the Hilton groovers down to the ground!)
Brilliant, brilliant tune...although I can't seem to find a copy.
What's the going rate for this?
-
Collins and Collins - 'Top of the Stairs' (A&M demo) $4
-
That Swan Silvertones 45 is one of my favorite purchases from last year.
-
........rca? my midwest franchise is on mca
mca, you are correct.....thank you sir.
-
Couple of records for sale. Postage is additional. Paypal is preferred. Please PM to reserve.
Visual grade and play grade listed for each. My e-bay screen name is fonkysoul, if you would like to check my feedback. Any questions, please ask.
Midwest Franchise 'I'll Be Around / I'll Be Around" MCA demo 45 $175
Visually, 45 is EX.
Both sides play with a little noise at start, which virtually disappers once the vocals kick in.
One side VG at start, then VG+. The other side VG+ at start, then EX.
Four Below Zero "My Baby's Got E.S.P" / Gentlemen and their Lady "...Like Her!" Roulette 12" $75 SOLD
Visually, Four Below Zero is EX, while flip side is VG+ (some light marks).
Four Below Zero side plays EX. Gentlemen side plays EX- due to one pop about 1/3 the way through the tune.
