  1. I love this record. I'm gonna have to give it a spin tonight.
  2. well, this is a depressing thread. I just bought a nice group of soul LPs and thought I'd throw some of the spares on e-bay. I guess that idea goes out the window.
  3. While we're talking additions to SoulfulKindaMusic, I have the Phil Flowers and the Flower Shop LP on Speed. I e-mailed details last year, but perhaps I had the wrong e-mail address, as it is till not updated. I will post up release number and song titles when I get home tonight.
  4. no luck at my local flea market (US equivalent to car boot) yesterday, but went to a local yard sale, and found some interesting things: Marvin Gaye - What's Going On LP / UK Tamla Motown w/ lyric sheet Desmond Dekker & the Aces - Israelties LP / German S*R International (ace cover) Jr. Walker & The All Stars - Gassssss / German Tamla Motown Jr. Walker & The All Stars - What Does It Take to Win Your Love / German Tamla Motown odd to find foreign pressings at a local house sale non-soul purchases: Yardbirds - For Your Love / US Epic Shocking Blue - s/t / German S*R International Music Machine - (Turn On) the Music Machine / US Original Sound $1 each and everything minty, too.
  5. as for price, I bought a VG copy on Soulhawk off the bay for $6.00 a few months back. Although I would like to upgrade. Great tune.
  6. I have Trespassin' on the Compass label, which I believe would be the first press for this tune. According to the label, Trip has something to do with Springboard, and Springboard was a budget re-issue label that released albums of popular musicians' older material (from what I have seen of the records I've stumbled upon).
  7. ok, who wants to be my friend and send me a copy of some quality soul choons?
  8. I friend of mine recently found the Mary De Loach "Move This Thing" 45 on Arctic, and it says on the label "gospel series". I'm curious how many Arctic 45s were in the "gospel series". Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.
  9. There's a US release with a pic sleeve.
  10. This seller responded to some "feedback" here: link
  11. I can't say for sure, but I have a number of jazz 45s on this label, and they are all either yellow demos or black stock copies. I know this topic is concerned specifically with Verve 45s, but are there any soul LPs that were ever released on this label? Just curious, as I have never come across any.
  12. Uptights - Shy Guy / He Said Columbia promo 45 Light marks on the vinyl and some label damage, as pictured. Shy Guy plays VG++ with some light crackle at the intro, while the flip plays very strong VG for first 30 secs, then improves to VG+. $150 Jimmy Hughes Neighbor, Neighbor / It's A Good Thing Fame 45 Neighbor Neighbor plays NM, while the flip plays VG++. Pretty good bubbling of the label around the hole on the Neighbor, Neighbor side. $30 Please PM to reserve or ask questions. Standard airmail to Europe is $6, and 45s will be packaged in a new cardboard mailer with inserts. I have sold on e-bay as fonkysoul, feel free to check my feedback as a reference.
  13. I remember googling m-d-l-t willis when I bought it, and I thought there might have been another single by them, but I've never seen it. I just noticed that you listed the label as Liberty Tower. I believe it is on Ivory Tower, unless you have a different release of this record.
  14. You can order Modern Soul Connoiseurs on e-bay from a stateside seller for probably less than $10 + postage. Some other quality tunes on it as well.
  15. I bought this blind last year and thought the same thing myself.
  16. I probably should give this another listen, as I recall liking some songs very much, while the others left me wanting more. 'Save Me' is a great tune, though.
  17. His columns were ridiculous, a complete waste of paper. Just another reason for me to stay away from e-bay.
  18. I thought there was a policy of not mentioning an auction while it is still on-going. I guess I'll have to remove my snipe now.......
  19. The highlight for me this past week was a copy of Arthur Alexander's "I Need You Baby" showing up. Amazing tune that is unfortunately not quite the VG+ grade the seller stated.....
  20. well i am hoping the steelers take 'em down. if the eagles nearly beat them, the steelers certainly should.
