  1. Anyone have a value for "Keep On Keepin' On" by Flypaper on Sounds of the City? Thanks.
  2. I have 2 copies of Mark Murphy "Why Don't You Do Right" 45 on black label Riverside. Unplayed old store stock, they look EX. $100 postage paid from USA. Paypal fine. Yeah, not soul, but thought some of you might be into mod jazz. Please send an e-mail to djr45 (at) comcast.net if interested. Thanks.
  3. What a brilliant tune.
  4. Place your funk 45s for sale on the funk45 forum: https://www.fryer-mantis.co.uk/

Thanks for posting that up - quite like it.

Quite like that tune. Going right on the want list. Thanks for posting it up.
  7. You have a website or can you let me know the future dates of your soul night? I'd like to visit Pittsburgh this summer & would like to take in some sounds while I'm there.
  8. It used alphabetically by label, but then a few years back I switched to break out by genre (soul, funk, jazz, freakbeat/mod) then alphabetically
  9. Love the Carol Jones. Those horns are unbelievable.

not sure if this is sad or funny, but a large postal truck got into an accident outside Philadelphia (not too far from where I live), spilling the contents all over the road. All I could think of was "I hope none of the 45s I recently purchased off the internet were in that trailer".....
  11. That Astro label is nice. Always a bonus when the label has a nice design. Now if only these records had company sleeves.........
  12. Interesting record. I like the stoned out fuzz funk version of California Dreaming on the flip. Might have to give it a spin tonight.

Great tune. This is definitely the version.
  14. Couple of spares lying around: Dramatics - No Rebate On Love (plays EX) / Feel It (plays VG+) Mainstream Slightest of edge lift - does not affect play. $8.00 Fresh Flavour - Without You Baby, I'm a Loser (stereo / mono) Buddha Stereo side plays EX, mono side plays VG+. There is a edge warp that does not affect play. $12.00 Both 45s have some label wear, but nothing horrible. Grades are play grades. Postage from the States is $6.00 Please PM me if interested.

Chocolate Buttermilk is a fantastic tune. Probably my favorite as well. Last year I found the first LP for a couple bucks, and I was thinking I'd sell it since I'm more of a 45 collector, but then Give It Up got under my skin...it's not going anywhere now. Who's Gonna Take The Weight still sounds pretty good as well.
  16. I believe everything that is published in the magazine is available on the internet somewhere. Not sure if it's available for general view or if you have to somehow confirm you subscribe. That being said, if you'd like me to, I'll rip out the record show pages from February's issue & post them to you. PM me your address if you'd like me to.

I got a copy of Robert Moore's "Tears of the World" (Blue Candle) 45 form the postman today. Tune just seems to overwhelm me when that chorus comes in with those horns. Also spinning Sterling Harrison's "Back Tracking" (Real World) 45 tonight. It's from '80, & a Holland-Dozier-Holland tune that I found in a thrift last weekend. Not bad, even though it's very late for me......
  18. Trying to piece together a discography for the House of the Fox label. Anyone know what the artist & titles were of HOF 7 release is? Thanks.
  19. funk, latin, jazz, freakbeat, psych, + oddball stuff......
  20. Reissued in the USA in 1997, according to this website
  21. A little over a day to go..........
  22. Reminds me of last year when my wife and I went to a restaurant/night club & in the middle of dinner a rockabilly band came on stage. The crowd was pretty straight - as in no idea about subcultures - and they eventually started asking for some covers, something from Motown was suggested. Well the band said - somewhat nicer than I expected to them to - that it wasn't their sound, but eventually caved in and played a cover of Barrett Strong's 'Money', which was pretty much lost on all the requestees..... OK, maybe that has nothing to do with the original post, but it's too late now.....
  23. Great tune. Haven't spun it in a while & nice to hear it again. I can see this getting more spins around the house for a while......
  24. Unfortunately, I've sent back the last two 45s that I've won off e-bay....seems to be a rash of mis-grading......I think it might be time to take a break.
  25. right now it's Ronnie Marks - Some Lonely Heart (Fania)
